I'm 6'1" and I'm supposed to be rocking 50" for a traditional length. Now alot of park guys go much shorter than that. I however am typically all over the mountain so I rock a 48". Seems to be perfect length for me.
Different strokes for different folks.
2 seasons ago I rocked 52cm poles and I'm 6'2. WAYYYY too long. I felt like a boner. Unnecesary poles plants especially when riding park. How I managed to walk away with two unbroken thumbs still amazes me.
Now I rock poles probably 30cm. Bought the surface poles and chopped them down until I was comfy. With my skis and boots on, my arms bend slightly when my hands rest right on top of the grips.
They don't get in the way and I can still do effective pole plants. ANDDDD they look steezy. Always a bonus.
Now I'm rocking no poles typically. However, I just picked up a pair of Line Darts that I plan to chop SUPER short just for shits and gigs when I'm in the park.
For me, I bought i think 44 CM Line Darts and then just cut um down to they felt good which was when my arm on top of the pole made a slight bend in it. Great for Park and I can still plant all mountain.
If I were you I would go 46-50 depending on how aggressive you are with your pole plants and turn shape. I can't stand how some people cut their poles so short. It feels too awkward for me and I would rather not have poles than have little stubs. To each their own though.
