What car companies in terms of quality, price etc. compare to that of ski brands? dont know if this has been considered. Thoughts?

ON3P=Tesla - new and innovative but pretty small

Salomon= GM - jack of all trades master of none

K2=Toyota - very reliable all around, but not that sexy

Armada=Audi - the cool brand that actually performs really well

Line=Scion - made for small people with low budgets who want to look pro

Atomic=Mercedes- pretty bomber construction and ride, but you will pay for it.

i could go on but its someone else's turn

volkl = BMW super performance some fancy features but still very performance oriented. and is not going to break. also very fast skis and car

Armada = Porsche lets be real, armada skis drop panties and haul ass. Plus they look mad sick ( i dont ride em)

Salomon = GM boring and agreed definate jack of all trades

K2 = Ford used to suck but getting to be pretty impressive in durability innovation pretty much all around the board good shit. however the y still look like crap.

Coreupt = Chrysler, lots of changes unstable not sure if reliable, dumb logo.

Atomic = Mercedes idk why

Line = Land Rover....... Do they even glue the skis together or do they just stack the wood and hope (doesnt apply to all mountain and pow skis)

DPS = Rolls Royce, soooo sick but you basically have to be the monopoly guy to get em.

ON3P = lambourghini unparalleled rediculousness. cum inducing graphics, and performance to back em up

Ninthward = TVR used to be cool somewhat irrelevant nowadays

4frnt = maserratti defiantely a little rare, unique appearance but very very sick a

Black Diamond = Jeep for obvious reasons

Rossignol = Lexus, innovation reliable classic pretty sick all around but definately not as cool or flashy as other brands.

Maybe add:

Surface = VW generally affordable but debatable on reliability and performance

Amplid = Acura quality products but not as famous as competitors

Moment = Aston Martin rare but when you see them you're like daaaaamn those look good and haul ass

Liberty = Lotus see above

put in a lot of thought

armada = stickin with ferrari. i think both set the tone for the two products, when people think of nice car=ferrari. nice skis= armada. hype reasons, but backed up by solid performance. (i ride them)

salomon= cadillac. both have classic styles.

line= jaguar.

head = lamborghini. both fast and fancy.

fischer = vw because of quality price matters

atomic = mercedes. solid preformance, engineering, and quality.

volk = gonna go with audi. both german, hightech engineering

rossignol = lexus for sure.

4 frnt = aston martin. smooth sexy, and a tad rare.

k2 = pontiac. classic american style.

blizzard = volvo

dynastar = toyota

you're definition of reliable must be fairly loose.

and here's the kicker, Aston Martin actually has their own branded skis.

and they're not the only high end car company who does.

also, why are you guys comparing skis to different car brands that are the same company vw=audi
so if you're going to compare it should look more like

lexus/toyota - dynastar/rossi
vw/audi - atomic
subaru - k2 - loved by hippies everywhere
etc.

When i was at the local shop, I forget whether the tesh was comparing bacons and helix's or jesters and fks, but i remember him saying that they were both really good, just slightly different style, like audi and bmw

i would say line=subaru because they have a great price to perfromance ratio.

volkl= audi ,luxury and very high quality products

atomic=bmw , very nice but you are going to pay big bucks for what you get

dps= rolls royce , classic luxory skis unbeatable quality

k2= mercedes , quite popular and good quality, although overpriced

boone= saturn , ran out of buisness ( i realize they are not out of buisness but they are not good)

salomon= gm , jack of trades

armada= ferrari , fast awesome and sadly exspensive

rossignol= ford , realiable and have been in buisness for a very long time

wrong wrong wrong.

Lamborghini, and Bugatti, are both subsidiaries of Volkswagen. Audi on the other hand is not. That's why when you open the hood of a vw or audi, it says both VW and Audi on the parts.

Think of Lamborghini to VW as Line to K2, different products, money still ultimately lands in the hands of K2/VW.

My knowledge is from Top Gear, so I'm probably wrong, but isnt the Gallardo pretty much an Audi R8? I know the Gallardo came first, but its 4wd system was developed by Audi and all, right?

potentially, i can't really remember.

but you gotta remember that Ferrari uses a the suspension from a Cadillac CTS-V and those two companies have no relation.

The R8 is basically a de-tuned Gallardo, originally using a V8 instead of the V10, now they offer the V10 R8, and it's the same engine as the Gallardo, but it's significantly less powerful.
