Note: They all look pretty much the same.
Throughout film and digital photography, the Canon EOS-1 Line has had some of the best cameras of all time. State of the art technology, blazingly fast autofocus, and amazing build are some of the things that make these cameras so great. You might think these are way out of reach price wise for you; guess again. I have never used one, but plan on buying one and have done some research and here is a basic guide to the line:
Used prices are all good deals for the body in good condition
and I have left out the awesome build, 100% coverage VF, almost no powering on time or shutter lag and 45 autofocus points (with many cross types) as those are characteristics of every one of these cameras.
Be sure to look at the pros AND cons, and dont disregard something becase it doesnt have many pros, it probably has few cons and therefore most of the stuff is dece
for the Pros, I'm only doing the stuff that really stands out WHEN COMPARED TO TODAYS TECHNOLOGY!
EOS 1V- $500
Pros: 10fps burst, 35mm, Cheap, Film
Cons: Film, Film, Film, Film, you get the point
EOS 1D- $350

EOS 1D Mark iv-$4000

EOS 1Ds Mark ii- $2000

EOS 1Ds Mark iii-$4500

Some of the said prices might be a little high, but none are too low. 1Ds Mark iii is on B&H right now for $4500, I knew someone would challenge that.
These cameras sound like a joy to shoot with and just make photorgraphy much better, and they make you look pro ;)
If you are concerned about the older technologies, just remember that the top pros were shooting with these cams at a time, so they have to be adequate.
And don't overlook the pros that I list before the different cams that they all share.
Also the prices should go down on most of these when the new 1D drops in a week! Hope so!
This will also be the go to thread for 1D Mark V info!
Please post your experiences with these cams, deals you find of these, or anything else related to these awesome cams!!
