So I was watching this new story about Hurricane Charlie and the clean up in this town named Punta Gorda. I don't speak spanish or anything, but doesn't that mean Fat Whore??

ah, ok, I just remember someone saying a word that sounded like punta that mean whore, or slut. Too bad though, that would be a funny name for a town.

'Fat End' isn't bad, it sounds like a guy living in his basement who was bitter and alone and then he died because he was so fat he couldn't fit through the door...

yeah, usually punta is slang for bitch/whore. My guess is that it may have been called 'punto gordo'. Meaning something along the lines of 'the large point' or something along those lines.

but who knows, some people could've been crazy back then and named it fat bitch.
