IMac help! Grey smudges.

Hey guys,

So recently it became apparent to me that I have a a grey smudge on my Mac, inside the LCD.

I read that thread and found out that I can get it fixed most likely for free but what do I do when I send it in, I have some "stuff" on my computer *cough* illegal programs and such *cough*. What do I do? is there anyway to lock it without them being able to unlock it?

do you have to go to the mac store or send it to apple?

If Mac store (and a country that isn't insane on copy write laws *cough* US *couch*) I was told that they dont care about programs, just the operating system. (I had my hard drives transfered to my new mac)

I would just ask there though, most of the guys that work there will be honest with you.

If you have to send it to apple... I dont know how to help there.

set it so you have to log in when you turn on the computer

apple doesn't go through your stuff for a hardware issue

ok cool, thanks guys.

I will probably bring it to the apple store in the city.
Do you think it might be easier to bring it to a repair place, its closer but its only apple authorized so I am not sure what they can do. I might print out the form to show these people that lots of people had this problem.

Yeah I doubt apple is going to search your computer for illegal software that may have smudged your screen lol. I'm sure you're fine, everyone pirates shit anyways.

My only advice would be to bring it to an apple authorized dealer first and see what they say, they might do it for free if you're lucky but nobody else will.
