Let's share idea's for sandwichs in this thread. I love making me some sandwichs, but I wanna hear what other NSer's make. I'll start off.

- Toasted whole wheat bread, turkey, basil, spring mix salad, tomato, red onion, cheese, mayo, chipotle ranch sauce (not the pre mixed), dijon, franks red hot

- Toasted whole wheat bread, tomato, basil, bacon, mayo, franks red hot

- A really good kaiser bun, bbq pork to medium rare then sliced, grilled red pepers, grilled onion, spring mix salad with black balsamic vinegar and crushed garlic.

So NS, what kind of sandwichs do you guys make?

Spinach
A little spicy brown mustard

Grilled chipotle chicken, on honey wheat bread, with bacon, avocado, tomatoes. SO GOOD.

Also I work at Jimmy Johns, so I'm pretty much a sandwich pro.

Toast some fresh wheat bread to a light crisp, not too black
Sliced roast beef, preferably warm
Red Onion
Tomato
Mayo
Horse radish
Bed of lettuce

To go down with a good ale.

Another good one is the classic New England lobster roll. Can't beat that.

My favorite sandwich is:

Sourdough
Ham
Cheddar Jack
Tomato

Toasted

Then add avocado and olive oil and basil instead of any sort of condiment.

chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto, grilled (still tastes incredible if not on a sandwich)

Just made this. Two chicken patties (baked or microwaved I dont give a fuck) on a mini loaf of french bread. Add ketchup and shredded cheese=delicious.

a bun, with camembert, avocado, mustard, and ham. toast for extra pleasure.

pumpernickel, hummus, bean sprouts, cherry tomatoes

i also like cucumbers on sammiches, and enjoy spicy capicola. i also tried one with prosciutto, and it was pretty amazing.

Sandwich making is an art. You can't just throw kraft singles on there... Provalone, swiss, cheddar jack... cheese makes the sandwich better.

The most I splurg for a sandwich is getting some swiss, pepperjack, or sharp cheddar for cheeses and pastrami or corned beef for the meat. But prosciutto?

Also, prosciutto isn't cheese. It's thinly sliced ham. It's often found wrapped around mellon or asparagus. It can be bought in the deli section and is the same price as deli ham, just thinner.

I thought you were referring to provolone cheese... which is delicious.

But yeah, cheese is delicious and should be enjoyed on delicious bread with delicious meat.

1. pesto, tomato, mozzarella and basil on normal bread, toasted/cooked over the stove like grilled cheese

2. Grilled cheese & truffle oil

3. hawaiian sweet bread, cheese, salami, etc.

4. toasted bread, peanut butter (melts if the bread is toasted hot enough) & bananas

There's a little Italian delicatessen in Missoula, MT that has the WORLDS GREATEST italian charcuterie style sandwiches. My top two personal favorites are:

"The Megadeath": ham, finocchiona, hot sopressata, pepperoni, hot cappicola, smoked mozzarella, pepperoncinis, tomatoes, romaine, and spicy vinaigrette

"The Kiss": prosciutto, smoked provolone, fig & walnut chutney, arugula, and lemon olive oil

Best panini ever. Chibatta bread, sliced and with pesto on both sides, with turkey and provolone cheese. Put into panini press, and dip in a balsalmic reduction. So good

+bacon/a lite amount of mayo and you have yourself the ULTIMATE sandwich.

also prosciutto isn't that expensive if you know where you buy it. most specialty meat or sausage places will sell you small sections of the leg and you can thin slice your own.

Yeah... I don't know what I was thinking when I posted that... not sure why I thought he was talking about cheese either.

Had to look it up, didn't realize you folks pay so much. I think I've only ever paid a few dollars at a time for enough of it to serve up appetizers. But then again, I lived a few miles from one of the largest farmers markets in the country. I forget that other people don't have that luxury.

This thread has so much potential for sexist jokes. But I like making a grilled cheese with bacon. Or at Subway, I always get chicken and bacon ranch on italian herbs and cheese, with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, white cheese, banana peppers, and ranch and hot sauce. So amazing.
