Does size 10.5 shoes mean 28.5 boots? or should i go smaller?
na its not a stupid question. but its all about your foot and how you like your boot. im a 10.5 and i fit into a 26.5,27,27.5. it also depends on the boot type and style
i wear a 11.5 - 12 shoe and have 2 pairs of 28.5 boots. i just like a more snug fit and they just feel a lot more manuverable to me. depending on the boot company/ fit, i would go a little smaller if you could. maybe a 28 or a 27.5 if your foot is a 10.5
My shoe size is about 11.5 and 28.5 boots generally fit my foot really well (i have some ace of spades for this year). you should have plenty of room, but keep in mind foot width matters too, and always try them on first before you buy
when you are buying boots, listen to the person in the shop because they probably know what they are talking about. when you buy the boots its okay for them to be reasonably tight because you will pack in the liner within the first week of solid skiing. if you buy the boot so it fits you comfortably with "room for growth", you will regret that decision as your toes jam up into your loose boots and your toenails will turn purple and fall off.
just make sure you buy the boot with an expectation that the liner will be compacted and you will have more room in there
