dude sawstop is legit as fuck, saved like 4 kids fingers at my highschool, which in turn saved the shop program cause too many kids are fucking retarded at my school and think that the shop is a playground

Hm... Been using saws since I could stand. I was taught BASIC safety. My dad said, don't cut yourself because it's gonna hurt. Never once have I cut myself. I mean yea I'm all for safety but how the fuck do you lose 3 fingers in one term? (obviously not speaking directly to you)

thats soo sick. People make mistakes (in response to early comments), some people work much of their lives using those saws and never cut themselves, but then one day they are distracted by work or family life and they lose their finger. this is a great system that should be mandatory everywhere that uses these saws.

When I was in high school a dumbass kid came to class high, and after a demonstration on the table saw the kid just kept staring at it as it was slowing down, then finally decided he was going to try to stop it with his hand. He didn't lose any fingers but he ended up getting like a hundred something stitches in his hand/fingers.

saw this on time warp. looks absolutely ridiculous. but from my understanding there is so much force to make it stop that it breaks. how much to replace it or whatever?

i think its a sick idea for when an ACCIDENT happens.

we have a table saw at our school... they installed this device (to much demise from the teachers)
a few days go by... kids inspect the new machine
then on the friday some retard decided to see if it works... it did, saved his finger and now they dont have the device anymore because they think that jimmy the retard will just keep triggering this all day. kids will continue to lose fingers at my high-school.

if they want to do it again, they shouldn't tell anyone about it so the students treat it like a regular blade and it will only trigger in an emergency. this would also be pimp on a job site, those guys dont fuck around and if they fuck up, at least they wont lose a finger.

this isnt new.

many many highend table saws have a very similar feature that jams the saw blade. This one is just a little differently designed, and a little better IMO.

and for the dude that asked, yes you need to replace it. and 9/10 times your saw blade is fucked too.
but atleast you still got your digits.

That's fucking epic. I bet it worked well for awhile too. I am pretty inconsistent with nail clippers so the sander would have made for a nice, smooth, rounded fingernail.

It said it registers some sort of electrical charge I think it said in the video. I guess it's kinda similar to how a touch screen only registers the human hand (for example it won't register the touch of a pencil eraser).

What I would've wanted to see though was the hot dog going towards the saw blade faster and seen if it worked just as well then too.

We have one of these at my school. Last week I was using it and shot a piece of would and hit a girl. SHe cried, but was fine, i guess thats what happens when you talk shit to me.

kid at my school was rushing at the end of the hour and need to use the jointer. not noticing what he was doing he dragged his middle finger behind the wood and sliced it like deli ham. Always make him give me the finger when I see him. just a little nub.

my homie cut off his thumb this summer on a table saw. He put it on ice and got it sewed back on real quick, got full feeling back but movement is restrained. Saw stop would have saved a lot of bull, but in reality you should be focused and ready to use the saw instead of relying on a safety to protect you
