Help me pick a movie to analyze

So for my English-100 class I have to watch a movie and analyze it in a journal entry. No idea what movie I should watch though! I was thinking No Country for Old Men, but I'm not sure if there is a better movie out there for me to watch that would be relatively simple to complete the task. So, suggest away!

English is almost invariably about the story, make sure you delve into the plot of the film or you'll probably do bad. That said, great directing enhances plots; if you want to discuss the directing then do it in the context of the story.

And..... Clockwork Orange. Or The Wall, if you want to watch something trippy and do a bunch of director-related stuff.

I'm not overly worried about what to write about, I just need a film to watch that will be halfway decent to talk about. Not something like transformers where all I can do is shit on Michael Bay explosions for a page

Do an older scorcese film.

He has so many popular films out now that you can easily compare to shutter island or the departed and he focuses so much on the story and creating characters. Should be easy!

I'd recommend Taxi Driver, After Hours, or Goodfellas. After Hours would be sweet to analyze though cause its pretty fucked up and has a bit of a david lynch feel to it.

Do a classic. Like Grapes of Wrath, or Metropolis. Or like Citizen Kane even! Older movies are easy to analyze because its all the same. European movies are sad and pessimistic because of their fallen economy of this time and american movies are optimistic hero stories! There. Analyzed it for you. BOOM!
