I just realized how much I love skiing, and how global warming may affect it in years to come, just wondering what you guys think and know about global warming and if its a real concern.

Global Warming caused by humans is a fucking myth. I'm not going to say that global warming itself isn't' because it is true that temperatures are rising. But man made belief is bull shit. I mean if we can have an ice age why can't we have a warm age?

60% of Americans now doubt anthropogenic climate change. It's ridiculous. Either way, good luck getting a good discussion about this on NS, OP. It's not possible. I've tried. The problem is that too many NSers are the children of rich or wealthy families, who tend to be Republicans. It makes sense. Skiing is an expensive sport. But it's a shame. I mean, how many people do you think support Occupy Wall Street on NS? How many do you think even know what it is?

Guess that's from humans huh? Now we are creeping into a mini ice age that some are trying to make you believe is caused by global warming oops sorry that was proven a fraud so it's called "climate change" now. Hahaha! Look into solar cycles. Look back at those trends throughout history. Follow the money of those in power (ALL OF THEM) and especially al gore and how his plan was to set up a carbon trading scam that the biggest polluting countries in the world wouldn't be required to follow. Step back and take a look at the big picture. Once you pick a side in politics you lose. You must be willing to look at who's actually pulling the strings and be willing to understand that perhaps some of the ideals you cherish the most are probably not yours and are a product of years of social programming. please, for the love of god, anyone who is interested but undecided on the whole global warming thing, do your own research from SCIENTISTS, you know, the people who actually have to support their claims with good data. PLEASE do not listen to voluntarily ignorant retards that spew complete bullshit, one-line "refutations" of GW. fuck, it honestly makes me depressed thinking about kids reading some of this utter fucking shit and actually having it affect their position on the issue cause they dont know any better

Global warming is happening whether you like it or not.

Me on the other will be affected positively considering i am moving to norway. Global warming will cause it to be snowier:)

That is a bad assumption.

It is already affecting the world, you just may not notice it yet. But undoubtedly if the world continues with our pollution problems, we will be seeing drastic changes in the next 10-20 years...

Have you looked at the polar ice caps? Have you ever heard of the rise in water level? The warming of the waters affecting coral reefs? Which are vital to marine life. Do a little research before you say nothing is happening now. That attitude is whats fucking our nation, "oh we don't have to worry about conserving bio-fuels, nothing is going to happen till im dead anyway lets all go and pollute now and fuck the next generation"

We need change now.

i work at a very large science lab, and if you walked into the ecosystems dept and quoted some of the shit said in this thread, they would literally be on the floor laughing. the scientific community is split on it alright... about 98% to 2%. there's a reason one side can actually make good arguments, and the other relies on he said she said BS and logic like "well, they found some people lying so it all must be fake" or cynical references to al gore or people looking to profit off the green movement

seriously, i refuse to even partake in an argument on this. anyone on the fence, GO DO RESEARCH FROM LEGIT SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITIES. ignore everything else. as said, this shit is too important to be polarized by politics and the metric ass tons of bullshit that come along with it. it's not because of you, OP, but im done with this thread, it honestly makes me depressed that apathetic and selfish people can alter people's perception of this super important shit with such utter horseshit. Polar bears are drowning, (they're currently so overpopulated they cannot find enough food), and the ice caps are melting, ( this happens during every solar maximum throughout history), and the ocean levels are rising! (this also happens historically during every solar maximum.) please believe in Santa....I mean global warming or climate change...I mean global cooling. Al gore wasn't caught lying about his data and neither was the UNs panel for climate change! I swear that they didn't threaten scientists who challenged this by threatening to stop their grants. Please believe in the Easter bunny and manbearpigs and all of it! It's real guys I swear! There's no such thing as a planned carbon tax on every human in America and Europe! Dude it's whatever. There's plenty of problems in general with oil, coal, deforestation, mass poverty, etc. So on the real the green tards bring some good things to the table. If they actually come up with an "actual" clean power source that won't be a bad thing. Maybe that yard with the science lab or the one who took the environmental class could do it. Fuckin doubt it but clean energy ain't a bad thing. Maybe they can go clean up the fuckin gulf too cause that place is a mess. So don't get me wrong. I'm not for big oil or any of that. I've done "actual" research into these subjects. But on the real, global warming isn't real. The funniest thing about these guys saying "do the research" is that once some of these people do they'll see how big a scam it actually is.

No dude what ya have is some people taking advantage of the cyclical nature of our environment monetarily. They were betting that most people would be far too ignorant to look into and would just take em at their word with the help of a few years of social engineering. Well it didn't work and some are still holding on because they chose a side instead of actually doing the raw research. Yeah raw. Not the college professor who believes in it cause that's what he was told by someone in "authority" above him who was told by someone else and so on.
