I think that if you knew when you were going to die, you could make all the necesary preparations and do what you have to do to know that you've lived your life to the fullest, and once all that is done then death really would be 'painless'

I think it really depends on your beliefs. If I was an Atheist, I wouldn't want to know, because aethiests don't belive in an afterlife. If I was hard core Christian, or some other, I probably would, because then you know that you get to spend eternity in heaven or whatever that religion believes.

it's true that you could live life worry-free, but the problem is that we all live life day-to-day because deep down, we think we're going to somehow live forever (because the human mind can't comprehend death). As soon as we know we'll lose the game anyway, we give up and life becomes boring because we already know what's going to happen before it happens... like reading a book for the second time, it just isn't the same.

When you really break it down, everything is planned towards death. if we werent anticipating death at the age of 70 or so, we wouldnt have the same life cycle that we do. if we werent anticipating such a long life, things would be rushed. if we were only anticipated to live until 30, there isnt any damn way we'de be wasting one third of our lives away for 12 years in school. Death is not to be feared, or put on the back burner. Everyone always thinks about death, they have to, or there'd be maaaany more bodies in the morgue every day than there are now. If we didnt think about death, waht would be stopping us from doing our every desire. If i wasnt thinking about death, every day i would be jumping off of tall shit. However, it isnt much of a consious thought. 'im gonna die if i jump off of this.' Its a naatural human reaction not to do things like this....bc death is iminant. We think about the consequence of our action unconsciously...it's breed into us that we will die if we do certain things. I would much rather know i was going to die 45 minutes before. Everything would speed up, i would skip all of the normal bull shit and waiting, and do exactly what i wanted in taht last 45 minutes.
