Shock top is whatever to me.. My work has it on tap, possibly i over drank it.
But my favorite beer right now is a collaboration beer by Sierra Nevada and Doghead called Life & Limb it is absolutely out of this world! It is a pricey beer because they only produced so much. A 750 ml bottle that is corked and caged is 25-30 dollars depending on how early you found this rare beer.
It would be hard to find now because it has been out for 3 weeks... but i still have 3 bottles :)

The only thing worse then shock top is blue moon. Drink true micro brews, Shock top is made by Anheuser-Buschwhile blue moon is made by coors. They dont put this on the packaging because they want people to think they are drinking a micro. Search local breweries in your area and im sure you will find something much better.

Shock Top = Budweiser's Blue Moon.

AKA: I'm boycotting it due to the sheer fact that it's another attempt by the big companies to steal some of the marketshare back from the microbrews who put their heart and soul into beer, rather than just mass producing it and throwing it on the shelves.

To me, its the equivalent to one of the big ski companies starting up a new 'core brand' under it's ownership, and then putting square tips on them to take away from Moment, and other small brands, or building them in super small batch, and claiming they are built in garages or something, when they are just mass produced in the same overseas factories as the rest of the big company's stuff.

Fucking pisses me off...

False. Maredsous 8 is the best beer.

Also, New Belgium's Abbey Grand Cru is a must try if you can manage to find it outside of Fort Collins. It's probably the best brew they've ever made.

Shock Top is okay I guess....

haha, poor americans, just gonna throw this claim out there:
i live/study in a historic brewery city in belgium, the bar around the corner has 100 different belgian brews and on less than 30 seconds away is one of the world's longest continuous bars (i think we have like 30 bars side to side and over 60 on the entire market, not counting the little streets around it ...

i'm assuming you're about 19 and it's the first non 'light' beer you've had? cause it sucks, basically. as others have said. hunt down stuff from local breweries and you'll be pleasantly surprised. or basically anything from dogfish head, victory, troegs, or yards. they're all local to philadalphia, what can i say, i'm biased.

dogfish head and troegs are hardly local micros. you can buy them almost anywhere in the country, although they are both quite tasty, especially the DFH world wide stout and some of their other specialties.

if you're going to suggest local beers, try to find something that literally can't be found outside your state.

For me, that would be anything from Caldera Brewing Co. here in Ashland, OR.

I mean, you CAN find them outside of Oregon, but seeing as Ashland's 6 miles north of the California border, and you don't find these things south of San Francisco, I'd say its fair to call it a Local brew.


If anyone wants to come to Oregon, I can only say, you MUST try something from Caldera. It's all so tasty!

It's not hard to make beer that doesn't get hazy when you chill it to serving temperature. It just takes longer, which a lot of people aren't willing to do because they want to sell it and make teh moniez. Hazy beers not bad, but aesthetically it does not please me.

the real real oktoberfest beer is legit (its also stronger, like 7-8%, so for you americans with asian background, play it safe when you drink a mass, although its quite funny to watch) as fuck.

best beer probably is that, 7,1 % and just a great taste.

Just cause it's widely distributed doesn't mean it's not a microbrew. Just look up how many barrels dogfishead brews compared to some of the others. Also just cause you can pick up 60 and 90 minute at your local beer store doesn't mean you are getting even a sliver of what dogfish brews. Go to a beer store in delaware and you will literally shit your pants at all the dogfishhead they have. I'm definitely gonna look for that combo brew with sierra nevada posted above while I'm down this weekend. Subtle beach weekend claim/


Hell yuengling isn't widely distributed but I wouldn't call it a microbrew. We go through MASS quantities of it right here in the keystone state.


And a suggestion for the shock topper fans, try harpoon UFO.
