Replying to Adobe Flash Issues. Help!

So youtube all of a sudden told me that I need to upgrade my flash player. I uninstalled then reinstalled the most recent version. Youtube still tells me I need to upgrade. The weird part is when I search my HD I can't find the flash player at all, as if it was never actually installed. I've tried installing several times (all after uninstalling). When I go to youtube all I see is the black rectangle, no buttons or anything.

I'm running Lion on my MBP. The Adobe website is telling me that I'm running 10.3.181.34, even though YouTube does't seem to agree. PLease help I want to watch videos!
