Bump for being away for a day....
I will say this, when you hit like me... yeah no "athleticism" is needed when you jog around four bases...
However, being able to hit like that and throw a 94 mph fastball might require some ability.
I was young had a major talent... and pissed it away.
with that said...
my freshman year at a four year university I hit a homerun against a pitcher that had been drafted twice out of JC and then again by the Yankees for the 3rd time after that season. As I was rounding second i heard a scout scream... and i quote "who the fuck is that" i was too young to get drafted.. so i went unnoticed until last year. I was bigger and stronger but honestly i had drank to much and was out of shape.
I am currently 6 foot 3 inches 225 pounds. if i was 25 pounds lighter I wouldn't be dreaming of fresh pow like i am right now. So yes to contradict my previous statement about our dorm rule, i wouldn't be where i am if i stayed focus.
Everything happens for a reason.i wasn't a first round draft pick like i could have been and I am not on "easy street" but i have been offered a job and i haven't even graduated yet, and i will get to ski until i have blue hair and cant walk anymore.
Baseball was a game to me... but skiing and the mindset is what i call life. Friends enjoying each other's company, enjoying mother nature at its finest and trying to one up one another. Nothing gets better than that.
You can compare your sport to mine but at the end of the day; I hope you enjoy your sport as much as i did when it lasted.
Peace, love, respect.
