Anyone know main thing to stay balanced staight airing big kickers?
Pop on balance. WAIT for the grab. Hold the grab. Do NOT look down. Spot landing but dont stare at it. See it then look up. four point.
Or just do what i do and dont straight air... ha jk
The number one reason for unbalanced airs....backseat skiing...ironically, it's also a main reason for shin bang.
I found the best thing to do is to make sure to keep you weight slightly forward and your shins into the front for your boots (when people say "four point" this is kinda what they're talking about, also referred to as "gorila steeze", it's keeping you upper body forward with your arms infront of you, so you look kinda like a gorila). Also, pop up, it'll prevent you from feeling like your falling back. Remember kickers are angled so if you don't lean forward and pop up your body will maintain the angle of the jump (or go back more if you're skiing backseat to much), and you'll feel very off balance and start "rolling down the windows".
dont be the jumps bitch and just let it send you flying in the air. you gotta pop of that shit and fucking own it with a spread eagle or daffy...or spraffy
gotta be in charge of the kicker. dont let that fucker be the boss of you! go in at a slight angle on a little carve, pop forward, keep one hand reaching forward for the tip of your ski, and snag a nasty tail grab and tweak that mother fucker till it snaps your ski. afterbang.
2 things for me: first you need to pop a little and put pressure agains the front of your boot. just gently, not too much. the second important thing is to keep your arms infront of your body.
