Speeding ticket

Alright so Im in california and i rented a car, and just a second ago i went by a couple of those speedguns that tells you your speed and posts the limit. Thing is, as i went by (~15 over the limit) it flashed a few times and so did a blue light right in the middle. so does this mean it's going to get my rental car's license plate and send me a ticket? and if so, how bad will it be?

happened to my dad 3 weeks ago, wait like 1 week or a little longer maybe, they will send you a letter in the mail with a ticket and pictures of your car and liscence plate, my dad's was $198 and he was going 17-18 over the ,limit

screw lighting the car on fire..light the speed camera up drive away = profit of approx 150 dollars?

i've been curious about this for some time now, it seems like the registered owner would be held responsible (similarl to parking tickets). there may be some fine print in the rental agreement though where you agreed to pay for it, i'd double check if i were you.

the camera does not have a harddrive that requires come gvm't guy to plug a flash drive into it..

Mostly depends on where you are and state/county/town regulations. Actually it's mostly luck of the draw. Good luck though!!

Hopefully it was just a light to scare you and make you slow down thenones where I live do that if your going a certain amount over and i have not gotten ticket from them. Good luck

you are most likely fine. They use the flashing light as a scare tactic

well ill try to check in a second but at this point i mostly hope that if i do get a ticket, they don't tell my insurance. though i rented the car through my insurance.. hmm

yeah i hope youre right. the only reason im taking it more seriously is that the thing that flashed was a blue light, and i thiink i saw a red light camera soon after it

there is one by my house that has a blue flashing light when you are going 5+ over. I see it every time and have never received a ticket

unless that flashing blue light turned red and you saw a white flash soon after, you're fine.

i can almost guarantee that you'll be fine, the ones around where i live always start flashing blue when you start going about 20+

my friend's mom always you used to go about 30+ apparently because she loved turning on those different lights haha

I was wondering about this.  If you know a camera caught you speeding, couldn't you just call your credit card company and tell them you lost your card then refuse to pay any charges to account after the supposed date of loss?  I don't think a rental car company would be able to force you to pay if they don't have an active credit card number. 

The only consequences I could see are that the company would refuse to rent to you and maybe they would be able to hurt your credit rating.
