Metal Rail

Hey guys. So I learned how to weld. WHat are some ideas i can do for a rail. What size metal should i use for making a rail. Is 3 inches wide good, or is that to skinny. THanks

3 inch diameter will be great. Make sure you get cold rolled steel. It doesn't get chewed up as much as softer steel and is what they use in parks.

make a shotgun rail (2 barrels) personally i think they are really fun

3in Is big. Ideally 2in. Is what i like. And 1in is way to skinny,Unless you Dub it. AND Make sure the pipes are NOT galvanize, the fumes will kill you. The welds don't need to be pretty just strong. Aside from that use whatever you can. I'v been cuttin the top n bottoms of I beams and using the flat parts for the feet of the rails. And if you dub them together, I use thin steel squares, and use them to connect the 2 rails together on the bottoms of the rails. Butt them together with clamps and use a level B4 you weld. If the rails are not level and stright,it will end up pushing you off the side. Good luck
