Are Surface Skis Good?

I got a pair of 2011 Surface Next Time but I dunno if it is a good ski.

while I'm not a HUGE fan of my new lifes, I never really had any quality issues with them. their edges aren't very durable though, I skied rails opening day on them at brighton and have found 3 edge cracks that weren't there before. people that ride surface/causwell's nuts suck though. and they're fucking everywhere in utah.

im getting AR7 next year cuz the surface ski that i have has chips everywhere a huge ass scratch on the base :( .

(but its a kids ski)

I have surface double times and so far they are my favorite "cheap" ski. They are the perfect level of flex for me and have held up great. Minimal top sheet damage, and really good bases/edges.

I've got a pair of 189 LL2's (year before they turned into One Life's) and they are my everything ski (also my only ski). I ski powder (when I can), park (most of the time), rails (nothing intense though. Not willing to wreck myself) and just all over the place. Other than some topsheet chipping, I have had no issues at all. Also, I'm 6'3" and roughly 255lbs.

I snapped my No Times with-in 12 days of riding. Really fun skis, but maybe better for lighter people. (Im 6ft, 180 pounds).

I have been riding surface for 2 years and I love it, I had nine lifes, but they snapped cause of my summer jib. I now have Double times, and they're amazing, but the top layer chips off easily.

I have snapped 2 pairs of watch lifes. They were easily the most fun park ski I've ever been on, but I'm a big dude, and I break shit. They warrantied them no questions asked, which was huge and won my support. From the newer models I've seen it seems like their quality is on the up and up, however I'm rocking moments now and for me, they seem like a better ski. I'd still consider getting another pair of surfaces though.

I've had two pairs of surfaces.. Pair of No Time and pair of Double time. Both of them broke in one season, thats really sad because both of them were really nice to ski and i rly like the company!

I even emailed them about warranty things, that is it even possible that skis broke so easily. They said that skis broke when doing alot of rails etc, nothing else.. Yes I know that, but I can't understand how easily they broke down..

Tho since the skis were so great to ski, I'm still thinking of buying a new pair, because I believe quality might be better now.

Yup. Same here.

Also, I've been riding my double times since thanksgiving and I really like them, but this year will also be my firs year stepping it up in the park so who knows how long they'll last

Ive had three pairs and theyve held up awesome (new life, one life, live life). only complaint is that if you hit a rock really hard and compress an edge, the edge tends to start to pull away from the base starting at the compression and moving away, where others skis will have the compressed edge but it wont start pulling away from the ski. Having said that, that problem is more my fault that surface's. I find their skis to be awesome though, stiffer but still playful. Theyre just a blast wish they made the same shape as the 181 live life in like a 187 though.
