can someone please tell me, what in the hell does
'butter'
and
'landing backseat'
mean????

These terms used soo much, ive got like 12 different random guesses about all of them...

Butter is when before you hit the rail you either slip around from switch to forward or forward to switch. you know ?? Backseat is when you land on your heels or tails

i don't wanna start another huuuuge argument like always, but i was told butter is when you do that on your tips or tails, and not just sliding around...not that it makes much of a difference at all

Butter is when you put weight on your tips or tails, flexing your skis until the opposite end becomes unweighted and typically off the snow and you rotate at the same time to switch or forward, usually off a kicker onto a rail or off a jump.

Basically, its a manual (like skateboarding) and a revert simultaneously.

'landing backseat' is an expression for when you land a jump leaning back, typically out of control.

Butter is not just a revert.

yeah...like jp's butter 540 dropping into a line in 1242...he put his weight on his tail and started his rotation before actually being in the air, then he finished it in the air and stomped it.

and butter doesnt neciserally mean coming up to a rail, you can butter off a jump or just on the snow
