How often (if any times at all) have you seen service dogs in the actual passenger cabin with someone? I just got my dog certified as a service dog so that he can accompany on a plane and just chill at my feet and was wondering if anyone has ever seen this before, their perception of it, or just any knowledge in general about it.
My buddy told me about how his friend and one of his cousins have been flying their dog like that for quite some time and its actually a lot easier than you think, so I'm stoked.

i have seen like one person who has had their dog at their feet. I honestly think its sick! if i had a dog i would want it at my feet, and as long as it doesnt bark or whine a shit ton, i wouldnt care. thats sick man

it's pretty infrequent that you see it, but i've seen it once or twice before. it's no big deal, nobody really looks twice or anything like that. usually the dogs are super well behaved in that case and who doesn't love dogs anyway?

what kind of dog do you have?

the last time i flew i was on a plane with 2 military german sheppards....they were super well behaved and muzzeled. just kinda kicked it, and they got a lot of attention from the stewardesses

I have a lab/boxer mix. I guess he is kind of intimidating looking but hes super chill and would never go ape shit or anything like that. I'm super stoked about it, I'm just gonna act really professional about it, claim that I have emotional anxiety issues, maybe grab a note from the vet, toss that vest on the dog, and I think I will be good to go.
They give you bulkhead seating too and are really accommodating about it, which is cool. Alot of rules and disability acts protecting these types of scenarios, supposedly.

ive seen service dogs a couple of times. one time there was a soldier on a plane with me, and he had two military bomb-sniffer dogs, and i gave up a first class seat so the dog could take it haha

If you have a vest on him that says service dog or service dog in training do not touch, I think that would be best. Otherwise, that's super awesome

Only a real asshole would give you a hard time about a service dog. People love dogs and every single service dog I've come across has been trained amazingly well and acts great

I use to volunteer at a place called NEADS that trains service dogs and if they werent top tier material they were weeded out pretty fast, im pretty sure only the best dogs can actually become service dogs so I dont think you have anything to worry about

I'd be more worried about how the dog is going to do with flying..I'd be freaking out if I was a dog at 30,000 ft in a little tin can not knowing what is going on

I'm a bartender at a golf course restaurant and we have this one lady come in all the time with her lap dog...our manager told her repeatedly she couldnt bring a dog into a restaurant...she started coming in with it with a fake service vest on and carrying it and now we cant tell her no anymore. super annoying...does she think shes fooling anyone when shes carrying a service dog?

yeah, the guy had 2 seats, one for him and one for the 2 dogs. i was sitting right next to him so i went back into coach so the dog could have its own seat. it wasnt a big deal cause it wasnt a long flight.

i've seen a few dogs during my time traveling. of those dogs, a couple were service dogs and extremely well behaved. I doubt the airlines would have any problem with you bringing your service dog on board.

yeah its never a problem with service dogs. just make sure you have all of its paperwork ready to go. i think most airlines have the info on their site.
