Help with ski size...no i'm not retarded.

Hello All:

I am currently in the process of picking out my skis for the upcoming season.  The last 4 years I have ridden a vareity of 171 Line Anthems.  I would consider this the perfect ski for my size.  I would have loved to pick up another pair, but they are sadly discontinued. 

Here is my delema:  The closest skis to the Anthem would be an Afterbang which only come in 166 and 177.  For reference I am 5'7 130lbs.  I have owned 176 Armada's in the past, but I am unsure how those would compare to the size of the 177 Line skis.

Can anyone offer me any insight?  Should I go 177 or 166?

the only reason i'd go smaller is if youre doing a ton of jibbing.

the better you get, the longer your skis can be. plus if you plan on hitting big jumps and ripping the mtn you'll want something longer. 177 does sound a little long for you if youre 5'7", but if you feel up to the challenge, then go for it

Piror to switching to the anthems I was riding a 176 T-Hall for a number of years.  My concern is that my 176 T-hall was the same size as a 171 Anthem...can anyone confirm this?

I guess the question is...do I go 2 inches shorter then the skis i loved or 2 inches longer?

I'd go longer but I'd also consider the stepups. It's a beefier A-banger and is closer to the anthem than the A-bangs IMO.

No I get it.....jus sayin the stepup is closer to the anthems IMO. But yeah go longer....it's not that huge a difference like goin from a 170 to a 190.

177, you can grow muscle, you cant grow ski.

177....I have abangs in 177 and they are smaller than my old 176 t-halls by 1.5-2 cm. But they are basically the same size ski

177 afterbangs are probably a little shorter then 176 armada. go with 177

I went with the 177.  The comment about the Armada's being longer sealed the deal, but I swear when I had my 171 anthems next to my 175 original ARV's they were almost the same length...but who knows
