I know this may be cheesy, but I'm actually a bit desperate. Growing up in the age where real music comes quite rare, I really want to love and appreciate musicians like Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Run- DMC, etc. I want to so much to love artists and music like this, but I'm too used to the digitally enhanced bullshit playing today. Any suggestions on how to appreciate this music and breakaway from radio would be greatly respected. +k
stop listening to the radio
start playing an instrument (if you don't already). it'l make you appreciate good music more and shit music less.
go to record shops often and trawl through all the old records etc
I'm a very visual person. When I listen to music I like to imagine "edits" or stories or shorts in my head. So most of the music I like, is the music I can easily do that to... Or music that sets a pretty neat mood.
The longer I've listened to music as well... The more I've learned to love varied genres. Doesn't happen with everyone, just my experience.
But I don't think the age of a song really determines how much I like it... Maybe a little bias factor for nostalgia but that's probably about it!
