Right now I am on back at home in North East PA and I need to get some boot work done and a pair of skis mounted. Unfortunately the shops around me don't have to much actual knowledge of skiing. Does anyone know where I could get this stuff done properly and without getting charged out the ass?
Don't know about NEPA, but there are quite a few Buckmans a little further south. Reading and Allentown are probably the closest to the pokes. I know there is a shop very near camelback in tannersville maybe, the name escapes me though.
the shop near camelback is called the Loft, they mount skis and such but your not gonna get any good boot fitting done, your best bet is gonna be Buckmans
yeah i figured buckmans would be my best bet. I just wanted to see if there were any good local shops. But is Buckmans going to charge me an arm and a leg to get my boots fitted.
The staff at buckmans is knowledgeable for sure or right down the street is army navy. Buckmans will be better for the boot fitting but I cannot really say how much that'll all be, they just opened. Army navy mounts my shit real cheap, they hook up ppl who know whats good in the industry so if you need someone to give them a call im there a lot.
Buckmans for sure. If you can maybe try the new one in Whitehall. Some of the old Nestors employees might still be around and I always had good experiences there.
go to alpina its near jfbb and ask for deter, he helped me with my boots for around 10 years or so now, and if you like armada they are probably the best armada shop in the area, as far as carrying all of their product
i guess you didn't like the alphas very much then? did you try out the recoil? still a bit of rocker, but a lot more substantial of a ski than the domain is if you don't like that buttery wonderfulness.
no i havent tried that only the domain and revival, i really hated the alpha 1 also i like to ski the mountain too and every time i would go to ski hard i would wash out on the noses, i like a stiff poppy ski hence why i bought ar7s
indeed. i'd much rather have a soft buttery ski for around here. the only time i've ever wished i was on something a bit sturdier was on the bottom hit at boulder last spring. other than that, i don't think PA is big enough to warrant anything stiffer than my domains with the way i ski.
