I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but we still have the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) running crazy positive and not looking like changing too much. Actually, it looks like it peaks even higher.

A positive North Atlantic Oscillation makes it very difficult for us to get cold weather to dig in. We can get a shot of it for a day or two, but a positive NAO is typically accompanied by above average temperatures.

really? my dad was in north conway for work overnight and he said they had nothing and he drove through pinkham and there wasnt much there either. wa is supposedly opening sunday though, we got a good stretch of snowmaking temps ahead of us

I had like 2 inches up in Bartlett, near Crawford Notch this morning, but now it's pretty much all gone. Sucks soo bad I was stoked for some white stuff.

yesterday they were saying like up to a foot, today it got lowered to 4 to 8 inches, thats in central mass. and it looks like its coming christmas day rather than during the night

it just seems like everytime precip nears it gets flushed in from the gulf and has little cold air with it, i guess we're just in a rut, I hear the snow is pretty limited everywhere in the USA right now.

Good upslope yesterday from Killington to Jay along the spine on the Greens.

Killington - 10"
Pico - 10"
Sugarbush - 9-12"
Mad River - 8-12"
Bolton Valley - 7-10"
Stowe - 4-6"
Smuggs - 8-10"
Jay - 6-8"

It was incredibly localized as Smuggs did much better than Stowe due to the western side of the greens did much better. LOTS of wind too so it's scoured pretty hard and most places are hurting for snow so they groomed it to add base but there's definitely some good turns to be had out there.

Artic Oscillation (AO) looks to go negative mid-January along with the North Atlantic Oscillation going neutral to slightly negative.

This should give us a better shot at working in some semblance of winter. Might be another rain-maker to endure next week though before we start to make a turn for the (hopefully) better.
