4Front CRJ 2011/2012

Hey has any one skied the CRJ 2011/12 ? looking through free skier and it seems like it didn't make any of the big mtn skis or powder skis.... Really want them but right now its not looking to good. Give me some feed back!

I've heard nothing but amazing reviews on that ski.
Do you want a playful powder ski? Or a big mountain/powder ski?

The CRJ is the more playful powder ski, and the YLE is the big mountain powder ski.
Just from what I've heard.

Both look like incredibly amazing skis. I'd really like to try some YLEs this winter.

I couldn't stand mine and ultimately ended up returning them to Backcountry. The thing is, I don't mind a ski that's soft lengthwise. But when there's absolutely no torsional stiffness, you lose all ability to create a ski that performs well in variable snow. Maybe I would have kept them if I skied purely deep pow, but I don't seem them as a good daily driver inbounds.

The 4FRNT CRJ is a proven and popular ski, but it is a powder ski.  Not really designed to be your everyday resort ski.  It has a Rocker/Camber/Rocker profile and dimensions of the 188 are: 130 / 118 / 128 mm.  I have skied it a lot and it is one of my favorite backcountry pow skis.

I have last year's CRJs (unchanged for this year) and I love them. I used to have JJs which are also an incredible ski. If I had to pick between the two, I think I would go with the CRJs. The YLEs look like a sick ski too. The Turbos are also solid skis from 4FRNT.

As a once proud owner here are my thoughts.....

If you love to rail your skiis on groomers and are a typical edge/power skier they are terrible.....no torsional stiffness, very non traditional shape.....

They are not a normal ski, in deep pow they are fun, no doubt...but there are much, much better pow skiis on the market....with the shape they are fast in pow, which is a bonus but there are better products on the market
