it was a drug fueled sex game that turned into her and he boyfriend slitting her throat...she does look very innocent though.. but It seems the facts are there to say she is guilty of at least second degree murder
but you must remember that an innocent 21 year old is in fact dead.
just because there isn't enough evidence to convict her in the states doesn't mean there isn't enough evidence to convict her in europe.
and to whoever posted that she's in jail because she's an american in europe. that's a stupid ignorant fucking comment.
go to europe, and tell me on a whole, how you're treated. no matter what country i was in, the people on a whole were extremely nice, and courteous, and yes, i got laid... a lot.
just because you're acquitted of a crime doesn't mean you didn't do it. and the same could be said if you are convicted of a crime, it doesn't mean 100% that you did do it.
i mean look at OJ, killed his wife, ran, and still got away scott free.
italian prisons are not like some in the third world or whatever.
just get your facts straight. just because she is american, shes not innocent. nor the other way round. i think she had a solid trial and thats the outcome. yeah she "looks" innocent, but thats not really how justice should work.
there was a similar case all over german-speaking news not long ago where a german teenager was accused of raping a 13-year old british girl in turkey. yeah turkish prisons are a shithole and all that stuff. but the problem in these cases is that the "home"-media is EXTREMELY BIASED. it was all like "innocent", "the girls mom just doesnt want to believe that her daughter had sex and tries to cover it up" or some bullshit like that.
AND SHE DID LIE AND TRY TO GET ANOTHER GUY IN PRISON, FOR A FUCKING MURDER. HOW "NICE" IS THAT? FOR THAT ALONE SHE SHOULD BE GIVEN LIFETIME.
are really just stone room with a bucket to shit in and they feed you idk what to call it i ate it for 3 weeks and i still coudn't tell you what it was. yup good times
ok lifetime is a little harsh, but this is a very serious issue. 3 years for trying to get some other innocent dude lifetime?
i think thats a little weak and definitely not scaring enough. you could always grab that last straw without too much consequences. she probably knew that her trial would last forever and shit and could play that card for free.
this is an awful person to me. no matter of nationality or anything. if youre innocent, great. if nobody wants to hear your version, not so great. but trying to pull another innocent person into that hole is so weak i cant even express it.
i know a thing or two about how punishments for several crimes should differ and HAVE to differ in order to keep minor crimes in check. but this should definitely be punished harder.
there is not much emotion in there. i corrected my statement. but i think it should matter whether you try to give someone else lifetime or lying on some minor issue under oath.
3 years is not much. and regarding the circumstances (long trial, etc) it was a pretty clever move without negative consequences.
in this case, its almost like murder (of course the other guy needs to lack some kind of alibi or whatever, but in some cases there might be a scapegoat available and who knows how often that happens).
think about it. you get free and another guy gets 25+ years (depending on lifetime definition in italy). thats robbing him of 25+ years. imo, this is "close" to murdering (if you know what i mean, somehow its not close at all but lets say lifetime means real lifetime then its definitely comparable).
It's hard to play NS detective.
The Italian forensics should've been a whole load better and if Knox and Sollecito weren't involved, who else did it? (besides Guede)
The media should be fucking ashamed (especially British tabloids), Meredith Kercher died, which seems to be glossed over quite alot.
you can clearly read bias between the lines and through the choice of certain words. i dont like the nytimes blog article at all. its a blog but look up by whom.
I'm really happy for her. Maybe I'm biased because I know the family and she graduated from my school the year before I started, but it's such a relief that she got out.
AGAIN, lifetime was a bit harsh. but seriously guys, get your US-bias off of you.
but i do repeat that lying under oath in THIS CASE is a very severe action. and i hate how nobody talks about that. again, lying here means lifetime for another person. just look at how knox and her friend describe italian prisons, how they try to create emotion by all that and yeah, SHE tried to pin just that to someone completely innocent.
overall: to think that you know more about this case than italian police or federal prosecutors is pretty lame. idc and idk if this is the correct verdict and all, but i know that she tried to get out of there the easy and fucked up way and faced no real consequences for it.
I would rather have 5 child rapests walk free then one innocent person get convicted. But I am all for innocent until proven guilty, don't live in a police state, and am listing to Freebird right now, so I might be biased.
