For those men who drink...a question

so last night I was at work (I was a hostess in a restaurant) and the guy I like came in with a friend. They sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. He had a glass of white wine, his friend had a beer, and they had a hot sake between the two.

my question is: does it "mean" anything when an older guy drinks wine? or is it just the brainwashing belief by tv I have that men only drink beer?

I'm just curious as to what other men/males think of other males who drink something (wine) other than what the media has men drink (beer). if that makes sense

definitley weird, but to each their own. He deserves to catch some shit form someone for his rather fruity choice in drink, but in the end, who cares what you drink??

These are my 3 drinks of choice-

normal drink: dub whiskey coke
Classy drink: dub crown gingerale
Going hard that night: Dub vodka rockstar

my local walmart sells a local huckleberry flavored wine for 4.50.

it's delightful, cheap, and it gets you drunk. i have plenty of other friends that drink wine too.

if someone says drinking wine is "gay," they have some self esteem issues.

i love wine. theres nothing like a good glass of wine with a nice dinner. plus women like a guy that can pick a good wine to go with there meal. i guess its because im a little older now and dont go out just to get shit faced anymore

i don't really drink beer cause it taste shit but i drink vodka,rhum and jack.

i'll drink wine when i get older but right now i just dont wanna try cause i only drink in party and you'r not suppose to drink wine in party...

Wine is so good... but you take it while you eat or to party direcly from the bottle so your mouth gets all dark like a bawss. If you're chilling at the bar with your friend, he grab a beer and you get a glass of white wine you're prbly gay or trying to look fancy.

i only drank wine on my trip to spain this summer. its actually really good. wine is better for drinking with meals, but beer is the obvious choice for getting drunk

I wouldn't get wine at a bar, but I drink a lot of wine. It's really big in my family. My dad and I make wine together and he drinks a ton of wine, way more than beer. There's nothing gay about a dude enjoying a fine wine.

Both my roommate and I drink our fare share of wine, and we've gotten our friends turned on to it too. It tastes good, so why not drink it. A true man doesn't give a shit about what other people may think and just drinks what he wants (as long as it's not a fruity mix drink).

The fact that people are saying wine is "gay" shows you that we have been influenced ( by media possibly) to think that a man dinking wine is gay..and a man drinking beer is manly.. The connecting between wine and the word gay is completely arbitrary, and highly influenced by marketing and experiences.. nothing is actually "gay" about wine..the guy prob felt like wine.. In no way is your choice of what to drink influenced by your sexuality.

I'd say he sounds gay, but I have a buddy who gets a glass a wine when he is out with us sometimes and he has a good looking gf and is not gay. Also we always make fun of him when he does this so if his buddy wasn't crackin a few then thats probably his buttbuddy

I'm guessing that anyone who thinks the guy is gay just because he orders a glass of wine at the bar is not old enough to drink legally. Wine is good, and if you don't feel like beer or getting shitfaced with mixed drinks or shots, it's a fine alternative.

Why would you associate somebody drinking a glass of wine at a bar with their sexuality?

Sure it's "unconventional"...I guess.. There is also the convenience factor that comes with carrying around a bottle of beer, and that wine isn't necessarily served at every "bar" bar..

I think nothing of going for the wine in a lounge/upscale bar scenario.

Plus it has over double the alcohol content of beer..

Nah I'm old enough. I've been to all types of higher and lower class bars. Getting wine is never in my mind if im not eating
