Removing grips from line poles.

Search function on here sucks, cant find anything.
Want to remove the grip from my line pins to cut them down, but can't find any answers.

my best guess to do so would be to take a blow dryer and sweep from left to right on the grip to warm the glue underneath.

from what ive found i hear of people putting the grips in boiling water, essentially to do the same thing.
the only thing that made me hesitant was near the bottom of the grips theres little silver holes, thought maybe there was a special key.

My friend boiled his pin grips and fucked them up. The pins have the baseball grips so you can't boil it. I would use a blowdryer if i were you.

alright, ill give the blowdryer a whirl.
my buddy was stupid and got fed up trying to figure out how to get it off, so he cut it from the bottom lol

lol wtf? how does that work. also use a heat gun. its like a super blow dryer. but assuming you dont have one, take some time and use your moms blowdryer

Boiling water is superfluous. I take grips off with the hot water in the bathroom sink. You don't have to waste time and destroy stuff with boiling water.

The space/crack in an open door where the hinges are, is just enough space for a ski pole to slide down into from the top. The space is too narrow for the grip to pass through, so it's like a nice make-shift vice to pull your grips off if you don't have a vice.

if they're just rubber, and you have an air compressor, you can just put the hose in the grip and it should just slide right off. you could also use a bike pump. it works on bike grips, i feel like it's the same principle for ski poles.

Just hot water sounds like it would work, don't know why your buddy would even consider cutting them

Hot water works realllll well. I remove my grips and basket seats with just hot tap water over the weekend to paint my k2 revolver poles (Original finish was shit) It will take a few rounds of letting the grips soak in hot water, then reefing on them, then back into the water to get them off, but be patient. Putting a dry cloth over the grips or basket seats helps too.
