Hey everyone,
Im on a shitty PC right now and am looking to upgrade. I am thinking about making the switch to a mac so i have the option of FCP and premiere. I have been doing alot of research lately and want to know what the specs should be to run smoothly on a mac. So do you guys mind answering a few questions?

1. Is i7 necessary? or will i5 work fine?
2. Some people use the Imac Cinema display, what is the advantage to that vs the normal mac screen? Should I consider getting this?
3. Do you guys think it will be safe to buy a slightly used mac? I would kind of be skeptical about it if it were a PC, but should I be fine?
4. Last but not least, will the stock graphics card be fine? or will i need to upgrade?

hackintoshes are tricky though, you have to have the patience to stick with them

I'm still perfecting my machine, and I did recently have to reinstall mac osx after my hard drive got corrupted. But yes, I think it's worth it, I have a mac pro at a windows price!
