My backpack is dying...

my backpack zippers are going and it has lived a good life as a free burton promo thing my cousin gave me. Anyways i need a new one and i just stumbled on this... http://www.jiberish.com/product.cfm?ProdID=367  is it worth it? probably not, but its sick non the less.

probably not worth it, you could get a Dakine with similar if not quality and features for half the price.

save your money IMO

The Osprey Kode series are awesome backpacks. You're probably looking at a 22 or 30. Super comfy and great for a-frame carrying. They also have a bunch of little do-dads to make the pack a step above others. Construction could be a bit more solid, but if you don't go shoving knives into it, it should last for years.

I'll post the same thing I did in an earlier thread.
Assuming you're just looking for a day to day pack.

I'm a massive fan of Dakine, and have about 5+ Dakine bags.

My favourite is the Burnside: http://www.dakine.com/p/skate/packs/burnside
Instead of a zipper, it's a drawstring, and I find it's so much easier to pack up and close, since you don't have to fight with any zippers. This can be ideal, since your zippers have quit on you.
There's two side pockets, and a flap pocket up top. 28 L, fits a lot of stuff.
Reasonable price, and Dakine comes with a lifetime warranty.

You have many colour options too, I chose the red

^this....or any dakine product....super cool company to deal with and every one of their products I have owned has far exceeded my expectations. Their gloves are stellar too.

looked around their site, couldn't find it, but I'm going to hazard a guess and say probably in several places in asia and probably central america, where everybody manufactures their stuff.

Well I'll tell ya the same thing about line....loved everything I ever bought....their customer service is impeccable....hate that they're made in china but other than that I love em....prob same for dakine....I don't really know where they're made but I will never buy another companies gloves....I have a few pairs of dakines that are like ten years old and still in great shape.

The Kode 30 is a killer backcountry pack.

Other packs I really like are:
Mammut Nirvana pro (30L): This pack rocks. A-frame carry is great, can do diagonal carry either direction (so you don't drag your tails) Holds everything you need, and carries very well. Probably the pack I will be using this year.
Black Diamond Outlaw is great as well, and can come with an avalung built in.

Made in bozeman MT, these packs kick ass. They last for ever, and are simply put the best damn packs out there.

Bump for good info in this thread whilst I am looking for a new backpack as well. I wanted to go with Da Kine, but I am between Osprey Kode 38 and Mamut Nirvana. Oh well hopefully this bump is helpful to others.
