Hey,
so i just stumbled upon a great deal for last years k2 revival. I need new skis and I thought about buying this years recoils but the old revivals are really cheap right now. They both have the same dimensions, so i just wanted to ask if there are any differences between these two or if K2 just changed the name and topsheets??
Thanks alot, Hannes

As far as I know it was just a name and graphic change. And all I have ever heard about the Revivals are good things.

um, theres more of a difference then just graphics lol. This years recoil will have camber underfoot and all terrain rocker, which is different then last years revival which had jib rocker, and no camber underfoot. I personally am going to be getting either thalls this year or recoils

The biggest change is there's camber underfoot now in the Recoil instead of the jib rocker in the Revival. This adds more pop and better carving capability. They also slightly changed the flex making it more of an even flex from tip to tail, letting the rocker help soften the tip and tail instead of having a soft tip/tail. This also gives it better carving capabilities, and makes it even more stable on jumps, but still forgiving on rails and backseat landings. It also give the ski more snap, so ollies and nollies are more energetic and more controlled. In my opinion it's a much better ski than the Revival (which was lacking energy and excitement in the ski), so if you can afford the Recoil without problems, go for the Recoil (even the prototypes I skied for a bit last season were much better than the Revival, and they got even better since then). However, if you really want to save the money, the Revival is still a decent ski, it just doesn't have the same pop and energy that the Recoil does and carving it is meh.

This evaluation hits the nail right on the head.

In my opinion, yes, but others will say no. It's kinda hard to explain without skiing the ski. The Revival was just kinda boring to me, but to some people they don't really notice the difference and don't really care that it's boring. The Recoil has a different liveliness to it, like I said, you can't really explain it. Like I said, if you can afford spending the extra money on the Recoil, I would.
