Coming from a long time PBP fan and a huge ski movie fan in general, I was pretty disappointed. Sountrack wasn't really good at all besides a couple of segments, there was way too much urban, and there wasn't any flow to the film at all. I understand how they were trying to get back to their "banger ski porn" PBP format after Revolver's negative reviews last year, but I think they need to find a better medium.
I dunno, something about it was just off to me. I guess I'm just always expecting another EDIAS...

Don't get me wrong, I thought alot of the seggys were sick (i.e. Martini, LJ, Park segment, Bobby, Josh Stack) ...But I feel like some of the songs really sucked like in Leigh Powis' segment and Dane's intro segment song. Also, there was too much flip flopping between big mtn/backcountry and urban segments.

I have to agree that there was wayyyyy to much urban, and then song at Charley Agers segment suck balls, which made me very disappointed

Its interesting how much songs influence the vibe of the movie. If i hate the songs, no matter how good the riding is in the movie i find it hard/boring to watch.

i am happy u made this thread, i felt exactly the same way but i didnt wanna say anything, although i loved revolver. i thought it was like watching one edit after another  rather than 1 whole movie. and ye the music choice was pretty poor. super pumped for one for the road and attack of la nina

there should definitely be a thread just on soundtrack, I've personally loved the soundtracks of every movie I've seen this year, music is so key. I'm sick of the cliche hip hop every segment, you still need it sometimes for the right vibes, but like level 1 and 4bi9 soundtracks made me want to just go download every song. I personally loved leigh's song too, been loopin it for days, kid cudi's tight

Question - did Dane Tudor have a 38 minute segment like in Revolver? If so, then I will pass on it. I liked Revolver, but way too much of any skier is just bothersome to me.

I thought the skiing was sick, and i'm real stoked to see a bunch more urban but i must agree that I only liked about 3 songs in the movie.

one of my favourite movies ever. i only liked certain sements from revolver, overall it wasnt that great. i havent seen grand bizarre yet but i'm probably gonna buy it off of itunes just because of some of the stept crew in there, charley ager, and i heard lj strenios segment was worth the movie alone.

i thought it was great, refreshingly short and sweet, didnt leave in a ton of mediocre shots like normal and just showed the bangers, and there wasn't a period in the middle of the movie where time seemed to stand still. oh and i love urban so the more the better

even better that there wasnt much talking, no "it's just..the feeling you get when youre in the air... it's magical" BS, just shredding

music was okay, not great not bad

and the skiing was unfuckingreal. so many what the fuck shots

most ive enjoyed a PBP movie since happy dayz i think

OP....still waiting for another EDIAS? Are you high? This movie mopped the floor with EDIAS...you must be young and have some sort of sentimental value attached to it, or something...

The Grand Bizarre was really, really good. I may not have personally loved each and every song, but I thought there was an excellent variety and some really fitting, perfect choices (Heart of the City for the pipe seg, Ghost for Leigh, and LCP for Stack ha!)...in any case, the music was infinitely better than the monotonous bullshit the riddled Revolver.

The skiing was unreal, and personally, as a guy who drools over burly, creative urban, as well as pow jibbing and charging, I thought this movie had an excellent balance (in terms of what PBP does). I can see how some may have found the abrupt switching from pow to urban a bit much, but for me, it kept me interested and prevented the boredom that sets in with too many similar shots in a row. The addition of the stept crew and the subtraction of some alumni really made the whole thing feel fresh...yeah, I'll miss some of the nimbus guys and JP, but outside of that, I feel like they did away with the dead weight and brought in some dope new talent.

This wasn't a perfect ski movie, but it was a damn sight better than anything PBP has done in years, imo. I loved Happy Dayz and War, and even Ski Porn ( I know no one else did, haha), and I think Grand Bizarre was something of a return to form.

As far as standout performances: Josh Stack, Leigh Powis, Dane Tudor, LJ, Heni, Sammy....shit....everyone laid it the fuck down, truth be told. Oskari killed it too, but I felt like I had pretty much already seen most of his shots in nipwitz.

Well done PBP, I feel like you guys really took to heart some of the criticism levied at Revolver and applied it to make a better all around flick.

I did miss Jossi :(

i agree with every single word you just said. except that i thought war was just okay, not amazing. the good segs were good and the rest was meh to me. but yeah i think we feel the exact same way about GB

Great post I was about to say basically the same thing. Just watched it ten minutes ago for the first time and I could not be more stoked.

The highlight of the movie for me though was LCP that was an unbelievable touch to the poorboyz saga. Hopefully some younger members who are always hating on LCP finally understand how awesome they truly are.

Thank you poor boyz for giving me a great start to this years ski movie experience.

Def one of their best movies. But some of the song choices were bad. Finding the right song for the right rider and shots is really hard so it's hard to criticize. Great movie, def worth buying

Downloading it right now off iTunes. I'm really excited, I've been hearing lots of good things and I'm hoping that pbp stepped their shit up from previous movies. Revolver was awful IMO...

Agreed dude. One for the Road had a sick soundtrack and the underlying message of the movie was reall sick, awesome flow to it.

If you don't like EDIAS, then you can get the fuck out. That movie is insanely good and puts out the nest vibe ever.

Im a sucker for backcountry booters and urban so this edit was right up my alley, also I dig the music too. I dont know what every one was complaining about. And I like how they had As I lay dying in the intro, they should have more metal stuff, that would be sick!!!

in gb i couldnt really find the banger segment, that is because most of the segments were fucking banger. the one thing that threw me off ( i have the i tunes dwnld) is that the credits then it was like it started doing the crashes and funny moments then it went to like the same segments we already saw with a few more. im not saying it was bad im just confused

And cam riley/sean jordan/clayton vila have alot of sick shots, its dope.

I think Dane has segment of the year, it is so damn sick (and no it wasn't too long) I love well rounded segments. with that in mind, LJ also had probably the next best segment in the movie, his shit was bangggger!

i thought the whole soundtrack was really good too. there's something about movies that start with metal and gnar crashes (ahem...Session 1242 anybody?)

I would highly suggest checking that movie out, it's been my favorite of the year

This makes zero sense. Reasons and EDIAS were significantly better than Ski Porn. I just don't get some of the comments in this thread. That said, very much looking forward to seeing Grand Bizarre in a premiere setting.
