ok so i was listening to a dream by jay z and biggie today (the song from some tammy wallnuts edit from 2009) and i realized biggie says the line "time to get paid, blow up like thw world trade.". "a dream" is from like 2004 i think but biggies verse is from juicy which is from ready to die, released in 1994. wayyyyyy before 9/11. was there another incident involving the world trade center before 9/11 cause i havent heard of anything else? please dont take this as any hate or something about 9/11 cause i dont want to start shit about that.

Well, this thread is stupid since i guess you should just google it before starting a whole conversation with this great amount of ignorance. Anyway, it is well known there was a bombing on the WTC in 1993, so that is what B.I.G. referring to.

Or you could consider the theory where 50 cent blew up and made New York Rap King again right after the 9/11, also he mentions and relates to B.I.G. very often. Verses like "I'm big in New York like B.I.G. and i run with D R E, niggaz know who i be f i f t y C E N T" spellbound it rhymes. If you're into the conspiracy of government time wormholes and things as such i guess you can make some sense out of it. Since he said he's gonna blow up like the twin towers, while the towers were still up. Since i'm not into this kind of stuff very deep i don't know much so i won't go further but it's a theory which i have seen discussed in other topics where the pattern was similar. From this point of view the thread isn't that stupid but i haven't seen it on the table here.

I honestly do not think he was talking about the '93 bombing of The World Trade Center. I think he's talking more about World Trade becoming much more popular and profitable. The line before he says "Blow up like the World Trade" is " Time to get paid". So I'm thinking he was referencing money, and not the bombings. However since Juicy was recorded in '94 and the bombings happened in '93 it's very possible. That's just my opinion.

Before everyone gives the OP shit for being an idiot, you do have to realize that they bleeped out "World Trade" because they figured too many people would be too stupid to realize that Biggies verse was written years before 9/11. I think I've even heard "Juicy" played on the radio where they bleep it out because so many people think that song is a new single when they hear it on the teeni bopper station for the first time. Also even though Rap Genius states that his "Blow up like the world trade" is a reference to the 93 WT bombing, it still may be a reference to the world trade as a market, and not the buildings. Bottom line is that his line "blow up like the world trade" made no reference to 9/11, yet it still gets bleeped out because people are too dumb to realize Biggie was dead years before 9/11.

Also he before he says "blow up like the world trade", he says "time to get paid" which is obviously a reference to money, so the world trade as a market makes more sense than the buildings. Who knows though

Terrorists detonated a bomb in the parking garage of the WTC in '93. That's what he was referencing. Nothing about the stock market or 9/11.
