Atomic Theory or Prophet 90s

been looking at these two for a while, they both seem well suited to what i need it for, i just need someone to tell me justifiably, get the ATOMIC THEORY..being an atomic fan.which i have been racing on for the past 5 years.

i ski mainly eastcoast everywhere, sometimes go out west but not often....
i`m 176cm, 20`s, and 150 pounds.
i`m +3 level skier with long racing background, been skiing for 18 years, and want to get into a midfat, something i can carve up everywhere and something i can charge with, as well, the capability to go off piste into some east coast powder...(if it ever happens this year...-_-)
i`m not sure how much each are, but i`m flexible.

i need a ski that can do it all, and i`d like it to be alittle more of a carving ski then park, which i know both are. which ones stiffer?
also what size should i get? i was thinking 177cm for the theory or 179cm for the 90s...am i correct?
or would i be happier on 168cm for theory and 172cm for 90s respectively?

can't demo, as ontario really doesnt have much demo days....
will be mounting with marker griffons.

any advice appreciated!

I would get a ski that is longer that 172. I was on the original prophet 90s back when I was your size. Theyre a ski that likes to be in control. It's fairly stiff with the metal matrix in it. I would look into something with a little more waist, like the prophet 98 (?) or the Blends. I have also skied the Blends, they are an amazing ski. Can't say what they are like with the rocker now. Look into something like the Surface Watch Life as well. 100 in the waist. Normal camber, very responsive for everything

If you have been a long time fan of Atomic you will love the Theory.  No questions asked get the 177cm.

As for my take.  I like both of these skis and have spent a fair amount of time on both. 

The Theory gives you a light snappy feel that is quick edge to edge but still drives a turn very well.  To me this combination makes for a fantastic do everything ski.  It not only rails a turn but is fun for the occasional park lap and still has just enough float and rocker to ski well off piste.

The Prophet 90 is more of a smooth and strong ski with a significantly directional feel to it.  With the slight rocker and capwall upgrade the Prophet 90 has a touch more edge hold but overall the difference isn't mind blowing over years past.  The Prophet 90 is probably a better ski if you are looking for a smooth damp GS feel.

thanks guys for the quick response.

knowing both are awesome skis,
which one is the more "turny" ski? are prophets better at charging a mountain then the theory's?
i must say, i do like my slalom skis alittle more then my gs skis. which one mimics more my sl's?
and lastly, which one is the stiffer, snappier, responsive ski?

The Theory is more "Turny" and the more snappy and responsive of the two.  The Prophet is more damp with a more GS feel, therefore a better charger and also the stiffer ski.  If you want a slalom feel, i.e. poppy and quick across the fall line, I would lean towards the Theory.

sounds like i want the theory's.

should i get the stock FFG12's with them or should i grab some marker griffons for them?

If you aren't going to be doing a whole lot of switch riding or landing I would got to the FFG 12, it's super light and a solid binding for free riding.  If you are going to be riding/landing switch I would lean to the Griffon or Salomon STH 12 if you want to stick to a 12 DIN binding  The heels are more sturdy in my opinion and you are less likely to break the brakes.

Note: The FFG 12 and the STH 12 look like the same binding but the heel is the reinforced metal heel.
