I'm definitely looking to do some bozeman backcountry this winter. I'm coming from the flathead for my freshman year, so I'm all for getting acquainted with the terrain here. Got trackers/skins/beacon and shit.
You guys should all get a hold of me sometime, I need new people to tour with and I want to get out a lot this winter. I'm Sam Reinsel if you want to find me on FB.
not any more it's not, the names scott boyd if anyone wants to look me up. I won't be doing to much skinning while hunting season but after I should be shredding
That was March a couple seasons ago, there was 130cm at the base of the peak then. We won't be seeing that much snow for quite a while, but Blackmore's a good one earlier in the season.
went up to bridger yesterday and there was probably the same amount of snow down in bozeman. apparently one of the fingers slid pretty good. i was expecting more snow but it was good enough coverage in the grass...definitely got scrapes on the road areas though
Yo homie I'm down. I was up in Hyalite today and the snow is still pretty soft. I doubt we should go to the top of Blackmore (due to stability) but we can definitely try to get up in that area.
