Getting smarter when your high? Or opposite

So last year I started to not do any of my work and i could never seem to pay attention in any of my classes. So i started failing a few. I started smoking and all my grades when up and i almost got straight a's.. This year though, I haven't smoked yet and my grades are kinda going down. I just can't focus in any of my classes so i was wondering if this happens to any of you guys??

Yeah that sometimes happens to me too. I think it promotes brain cell growth or something, and you retain information better after you've been high

Well weed definitely doesn't make you smarter.... but it does affect everyone differently. I know my freshman year of college was definitely the peak of my weed smoking, and it was the best I've ever done academically in my life. And I know it did help me concentrate more on what was important to me in life (getting good grades, etc.), so I worked harder in school. But like I said, weed affects everyone differently, so while some people may do better in school when they're smoking a lot there are definitely a hell of a lot of people that can't do that.

yeah lol im not smarter when i'm high, but definitely more focused if i take a few snaps before class, just as long as i don't get super baked

quite the opposite. if i smoke a little i get really contemplative and if i smoke a lot i'm fucking retarded. Needless to say i don't smoke all that much.

pot promotes the growth of brain cells. how you use it is up to you. i use to smoke and do homework all the itme last year. I would get it done quicker AND i got a 4.0! therefore, i get good grades, can still smoke, and my parents dont care! Just don't go to class high...bad idea...haha :) good luck!

you don't grow "new brain cells" per say, and if you were going to smoking isn't gonna do it. As an adult, the ways neurons change in the brain are from frequency of use and memory formation. they make different connections to each and short of somehow surgically connecting them, the only way thats going to happen is if you make new memories are have repeated use of them. and as an extremely metabolically active tissue they need all the oxygen they can get, among other things.

and if you look up how ritalin works, i'll bet weed works in a similar matter. not the chemical cell interaction per say, but the way it deactivates what i'm going to call the background noise your brain has. actually i think the chemical interaction might be similar but i have things to do.
