Im looking to buy some new skis, and im real confused about it all.. I currently have 'Rossignol 8X Oversize' racing skis, and want something a bit more rail, big air and mogul friendly.
Basicaly i have my mind set on either
K2 Public Enemys
Salamon 1080s (new models)
Head Mad Trix
Ive been told all sorts of wierd stuff, like public enemys not being good on moguls unless i reverse mount them (i still dont understand how that works, or what the tradeoffs for doing it are) also that public enemies are realy heavy (but im guesssing theyd b lighter than my racing skis none the less) ive been told that salamon 1080s are crap park skis in general but good on moguls, and ive been told that Head mad trix are way too stiff and dont have any pop.
ANy help on this topic would be great...
Im still interested mostly in the public enemys, any more info on them is appreciated, thanX!

The Mad_Trix are the heaviest out of the group you mentioned, the K2 Public Enemy's being Second, and the Salomon 1080's being the Lightest. I have never ridden the Mad Trix, but with a 74 Waist they should ski well in the bumps, and a fairly wide shovel which means decent floatation in powder.
The K2 Public Enemy's are a great all-mountain freeride ski, that is also sick in the park. It has a wider waist than the Mad Trix, with 80mm, giving better float in powder, but a little less performance in the bumps. Awesome ski for overall park skiing.
The Salomon 1080...I hated skiing on these, they were horrible when I demoed them. The only thing they were cooperative on were flat groomers, nothing crud/bumps.
I recommend either the Mad Trix or the K2 Public Enemy, but the Mad Trix are more durable, heavier, but with a waist better accustomed to ride bumps.

mad trix and PE's are both great in crud and park, but mad trix will be better in moguls. In the park, it depends on how stiff u want it (mad trix being stiffer). 1080's are really soft but they're ok in moguls and fine in park. when it comes to crud...they suck.

The MTs have more shape and a skinnier waist. They will suit you much better than the PEs or 1080s. The 1080s are just unreliable, and the PEs are a bit too wide if you're really into bumps. The MTs are probably the stiffest twin on the market and a very solid ski. The weight difference between it and the PEs wont matter unless you weigh less than 70 lbs.

I have skiied the Mad Trix for the past two seasons and I've been impressed. I've taken them on everything from the Daly Chutes in Utah to a sanctioned junior mogul event at Whiteface. They hold an awesome edge on ice, and are a good tool for powder under 18-20 inches deep. And as you would expect, they kill it in the park.

Thanx for all your advice, i weigh 80kgs anyway, so the weight difference in the mad trix shouldnt bother me. What are the downsides of having a stiffer ski apposed to a softer one in the park tho??? and thats my final question, thanx alot once again

You cant find twisters tho man, nevertheless for a cheap price. Get some old concepts, theyre like 99 at the tip or something, plus a small tail so you dont get hung up in the bumps...

Or just buy the Mad_Trix because they rip everywhere, unlike the 1080 moguls or Rossi Moguls.

my primary concern isn't moguls, its predominantly park & pipe, but with abit of mogul friendlyness, and i dont care much about powder ability.
So far it looks like mad trix are the go for me ^_^ The only reason i might get PE's over them is if i decide i'd rather not spend the extra cash on mad trix :P

if i were you i would go with the PE's because they are very all mountain friendly and will help you transition from the race carvers more easily. im not sure how they ski in the bumps but, if you wanted to do some bumps you could get some old school Hart skis because they kick ass. you could find them for cheap like under $75

go with the MT's cause they will save your ass when you start to slip out in moguls

If i was to get the head MTs, should i get Look bindings without raisers, or the recommended mad flex?

thanx for the offer, but as i said earlier, a full-on mogul ski isn't what im interested in, its park n pipe, with a bit of mogul performance. ie, i wont hit the moguls and wish i was wearing GS race skis to rather do them in...
