I dunno, there is a difference between brutal and fun. For those of you who skied on May 1 last year, that was super fun, and we were skiing through rapids shark fin rocks and grass at some points. I guess I'll see tomorrow!
just drove by mount ellen and it looks like its all shut down, barely any snow anywhere. Looks like lincoln is struggling too. parking lot was practically empty
Anybody care to give a quick explanation as to what the fuck just happened? All I have gotten from their facebook page is that Sugarbush just unexpectedly pushed the park into a race run. I didn't get the chance to ski their this winter but all I heard was how incredible the park was, that's a low blow if that's actually what sugarbush did.
Well, the video above shows basically what the park was this weekend, and what we expected it to be this week.
When people went to shred today, they found cats removing features, snowguns blowing, and snow being pushed around and flattened, with no warning anywhere. As it turns out, GMVS essentially bought out the park to use as a race training trail, and the management ok'd it and went through with executing it with no warning to anybody involved with the parks at all.
That has to be one of the more fucked up things I have ever heard of a ski resort doing. Like I said before I have heard nothing but how hard the park crew was working this year. I'm definitely getting a pass there next year purely because of the things I have heard about the park crew.
