Cult is a little slow, and its been awhile since we had some new members. Go here to join and get an invite: https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/cult/home/id/4689/t/NS+Gun+Club/
"Firearms have always been one of my favorite hobbies since I was a little kid growing up in the South. And while shooting DEFINITELY doesn't beat even a bad day of skiing, a fun day out with your friends at the range or on a pig hunt can come pretty close.
I've noticed, however, that the topic of guns, when broached on this site, usually incites a great deal of unnecessary controversy and/or brings with it a deluge of really asinine arguments. Now, I find that I'm not quite hardcore enough for gun site forums, so I wanted to set up a place on NS where people who already share a love for the outdoors can safely and unashamedly discuss their affinity for guns of all kinds.
This will be a safe cult for rational, gun-loving citizens who wish to discuss things that go boom. It's not for psychos or anything like that, and dangerous/alarming behavior will not be tolerated. In other words, people will be booted for making threads or asking questions about illegal activities (how to make a silencer, how to saw off a shotgun, etc.)
It is a place for people who respect guns, practice safe shooting, or would like to learn more about things like safety and gear. This is a place to talk about what's on your shopping list, or brag about your favorite pistol, or ask questions about the pros and cons of different guns and calibers, or maybe even discuss cool stuff you saw at a gun show recently. That's what I'm going for, at least.
And finally, in the interest of making this cult a safe forum for people who enjoy shooting, it will be set to "invite only." We will do our best to avoid admitting people who simply seek to trash talk our hobby, that bullshit can stay in Non-Ski Gabber.
Oh, and for the time being the forum will be open so that people who may be interested can read it without posting. I don't know if that'll be a good idea in the long run, but we'll see." - Courtesy of DrStrangelove
