Im a huge noob binding question

So, if I had spare part laying around and wanted to say, mount a pair of skis up with FKS heels and Jester toes, what would be the ramification of that? I mean the DIN max are off by 1, but the DIN would be set and tested the same. Would this be dangerous to my knees, ankles, etc?
Im sure I will get hate, but I have spare parts and thought why not.

i would guess it would not be a good idea because all companies have different release systems, so something that might release the fks, might not release the jester

i'm thinking thats a bad idea since the front needs to coordinate with the back pretty much exactly for the binding to work i'd imagine. sounds dangerous.

My assumption was that the releases would be independent of each other. The height difference if there is one will make a difference. I am not going to do it unless I get someone who knows factually it is okay. I am just curious if it was dangerous. Im glad I am not the only one to think of this.

i would think if you found 2 different bindings with similar toe and heel height it could possibly work. the release from the heels shouldnt affect realease from the toes

Im using 2 different bindings for heel and toe pieces right now. Well, actually theyre pretty close. I have Rossi fks 140's on the toes and look pivot 18's on the back. The work and release fine, but they are almost the same bindings. Not sure about other bindings though

the toes are the same as the px series
im have 155 toes and pivot 14 heels

from my expierience, everything releases the jester.

To the OP, you would have to look up the ramp angles of both bindings, and make sure they match up, make a custom paper jig, and mount them urself.  I'm not wuite sure that it will work well, but i don't quite know that it would be dangerous if the ramp angles, and height off  of the ski match up.  That seems to be ur biggest problem, i think the Jester toe would be too tall to properly match up with the fks heel which is relatively low, but i could be wrong.

Yeah pretty much, the jester are way too high for fks... anyway i think it would probably work but it is definetely not safe

This question is more a general, not just jester fks (even though those are the parts I have) I want to try it, but don't want to regret it.

Think about this, the Jester toe piece was designed to release with the Jester heel piece, same with the FKS heel piece/toe piece combo (although mixing and match FKS/Pivot/PX heels and toes are a different story since they're all the same design, which the exception of some older fks toes, like the geze toe, but even then it's ok cause it was still designed to release with the fks heel which hasn't changed except for the material used in years). I'm not saying it definitely wouldn't work, but testing something like that could not only ruin your skis, but also lead to injury. Just my two cents.
