I got a perfect score on a standardized test from writing about my skis. Very good thing to write about :)
Here is my advice;
-take opinions from multiple sources (your own and pros) to prove your point
-descriptive words are the best, if a person can truly understand what you're talking about you're more likely to convince them
-use skiing examples from multiple locations, skiing is a global thing
-use an extended metaphor or tell a story through-out the essay
