Working A Season In Chile

Hey guys, been watching videos off this site n browsing for quite some time so I decided I might aswell join. Seen some dirty shit on here keep it up guys.

Anyways, I was wondering if any of you on here have every worked down in Chile, or Argentina, basically anywhere down in the Andes. Anyone have any good organizations that they went through to go their?. Is it even worth it to work or are you better off just saving cash and living for cheap. I looked at lift ticket prices for El Colorado and they seemed fairly cheap like 33 bucks a day. Anyways thanks for any input guys.

From what I've heard.. getting a job in S.A is near impossible if you don't speak Spanish fluently, and even then it is pretty damn difficult. The advice I've seen people give is to try and save up.

Could be wrong though!

basically to get a job here in chile you either have to know ur spanish great
or know somebody thats can get you a job in the industry
or have like lvl 2 or higher in the Ski Instructor course, and work there :)

oh yeah and Chile is sick, this was this year a very low snow fall year.



In chile i would recomend ethier one of the central resorts like Valle Nevado, Colorado, even Portillo (good for foreigners). Or down south, Chillan is really good too

Argentina, i would recomend Bariloche, las Leñas, or San Martin de los Andes

I've been working in Portillo instructing this season. It's quite hard to get a job here, you really need a fair amount of instructing experience, probably level 3 and some Spanish, fluent would be good, but mine is pretty bad and I've been fine. The pay is good and the skiing is great though.

Bariloche is easier to find a job, but the pay is worse. What is cool there is that there is a proper city to live in, as opposed to a hotel in Portillo, or small towns everywhere else. There are hostels and stuff there where you could work for accomodation to make living cheaper. Earning much is unlikely though.

As for organisations to help you find a job, I don't think there are any, you just to turn up and be lucky.
