so my birthday is coming up here pretty soon (middle of October) and me and my whole family were at dinner. Anyways, my mom and ("well-off") grandma asked me what I was wanting. This cought me completely off guard. I didn't evern really realize that my birthday is so close. My grandma made it apparent that she wants to get me something super special (electronically) but I dont really even know what I want. So what are some ideas? She asked if I would like an iPad and I said no because I wouldn't use it that much. I'm thinking about asking for some kind of laptop because that will be really beneficial this senior year and at college. If I ask for one I was thinking the new Mac book pro? Any one have any thoughts about that? Pros, cons?
I'm also thinking about asking (from my parents probably) for a plane ticket to go tour a couple colleges and also see my girlfriend.
So.
What's your thoughts NS? What should I ask for? I'm a guy by the way.
And inb4 someone says I'm a spoiled little rich kid. I'm not! I've bought basically every piece if ski equipment I have.
But thanks though. I'd really like some helpful ideas. From both my parents and grandma.
+k might even be given out!
THANKS!!
I have a Macbook Pro and can't find anything about it I dislike. I would definitely recommend it. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a Mac vs. Windows debate...
no offence, but if you are looking for opinions/reviews of mbp's there is tons of them already on this site and google, just look around and you will find everything you need to know.
youll definitely need a laptop for college so if this is your only chance to get one without paying yourself i would definitely do that. another good idea if you dont already have some would be to get some bomb ass speakers you can hook your ipod to. i cant tell you how many girls stop by our dorm because our sub slaps so hard
I know. My thoughts exactly. But I asked my mom and talked about it because before I decided I wanna know if it's feasible and she said she thinks that's what my grandma was hinting at...
Oakley sunglasses?
Designer watch?
Nice non-skiing jacket/coat?
Nike ACG Boots, or any other god boots for winter walking.
All are good investments for College. Because you're gonna be outside in between classes. Nothing is nicer than whipping out nice sunglasses on a nice day, and a good coat or boots are essential for those cold winter walks when you'll have to be outside. A watch is good too so you can check the time in lectures without pulling your cellphone out, plus it's a good man-cessory.
Picking out good items that you can use more-days-than-not is always a good idea.
If you like videogames, you could ask for a year subscription to a game rental service. Same goes for Netflix, especially if you have an xbox or smartphone.
You could look into a nice bike or a longboard too. I'm keen on longboards for college because you can not only save time commuting in between class, it's tons of fun, and a great way to spend time and exercise.
I have some standalone bose speakers hooked up to a sketch tuner i got at thrift store. Total cost 30 The number of windows i can break using these speakers 400 in a half mile radius seriusly if i tunr up the bass You can feel your skeleton.
