How long did it take you guys to really start to love the school you were going too? i've been going for 3 weeks now and i'm still not feeling it all that much....

I loved mine since day 1... I think it's honestly the people. You'll adapt and find close, awesome friends... some of my friends aren't too crazy about their schools yet either. Just give it time.

I like it so much better now that I'm out of the dorms. I also have found people who are like me and don't need to RAAAAGE all the fucking time and think that sitting around watching movies and getting stoned are perfectly acceptable weekend shenanigans.

Give it some time. Not too much time though, if you don't like it after a while leave, I was at DU for a while in Denver and kept thinking it has to get better and it didnt. It sucked pretty bad so I transfered to CU and like it a lot more. Sometimes school's don't work out too well. It isn't a bad thing just transfer. Also, get involved in any way possible so you can meet a bunch of people!! If your sitting in your room all the time on the computer, you ain't gonna meet anyone, be pro-active.

love the campus, food, gym, and surrounding ski mountain, its just the people i'm not all that fond of yet. i'm debating transferring out

I went to college out of state and it was a HUGE adjustment my first semester, especially since I knew nobody when I went. By the end of first semester I was exploring my transfer options, but wanted to give it a chance. By the end of my second semester I fell in love with it, got used to the routine/lifestyle, and stayed all 4 years until I graduated. In hindsight I absolutely love my alma mater and I'm so happy I stayed... but to your point, I'd say it's pretty normal to have some misgivings when you first get started. My advice is just to not knee-jerk react and transfer without giving it a fair chance.

if you like everything but the people, I would advise sticking it out. The longer you stick around, the more likely you are to meet those few friends that make it all worth it

Living in the dorm isn't that bad. You've got people making food for you (meal plan), you end up with some of the better stories of your college career, and all your buddies are around you.

I feel ya on this one man. I didn't like college at all for the first two years. It is only now that I am almost a senior that I am beginning to enjoy it.
Take it day by day homie. It will get better. Just make sure that you shred ALOT to pass the time.

i totally feel you. i transferred to plymouth as a sophmore and hated the first month or two. i was living in the dorms, everyone had already found out where the belonged and my roommate had already been there a year and played sports so i didnt even see him. he slept in our dorm maybe 5 times the whole semester. it was just tough getting aclimated and people who share your interests, relate to you, and arent you typical "bro" or "stoner" kids or whatever. but tough it out man, it gets better once you settle into your routine and begin to expose yourself to new people and new things. i would never leave plymouth now, whereas this time last year i was ready to drop out.

Loved my school, hated my program. Honestly, I just graduated and my lifetyle hasnt changed much. I wake up early and dedicate 8 hours of my day to work then just chill the rest of the time wouthout worrying about assignments, studying, library fines, RA's shitty meal plan food and the rest. As a matter of fact working 40 hours really makes you appreciate a good Friday night. Plus I can afford it this time.

I wasn't really down with my school/city (USC/LA) for most of the first month or two my freshman year. Stick it out for at least a year though. There's no way you can get a good idea of a place in a couple months, let alone 3 weeks. Go explore the city your in, try new activities, have a positive outlook, sac up and build some character. I love where I'm at right now and if I hadn't given it a chance I wouldn't be here. For reference I'm a junior in college.

you gotta become a part of something. i joined the rugby team, that led to other connections. get involved and you will have more fun. it sounds like something an obnoxious parent would say, but it works.

Loved it my Freshman year... Then all my buddies moved to go on their missions and I've had a hard time making friends since. Now that they're all back, many of them are looking to get married. I still have a hard time finding people to date. Plus I'm on my last year of school and most of my buddies are just starting or in their second year.

TL;DR.

Loved it Freshman year... Meh ever since.
