The Midwest Ski Film Festival is back again in 2011, but with a fresh new format, and a new home. The Fourth Annual Midwest Ski Film Festival is taking place at Minneapolis’ Loring Theater on October 21st , and October 22nd. We are excited to bring a new two-day format, and our largest festival yet to epicenter of the Midwest skiing scene. This year four of our six professional films were filmed within the city limits of Minneapolis, and this gives us a unique opportunity to highlight the importance that the Midwest plays in modern ski films.
The Festival Kicks off on Friday October 21st at 7pm at The Loring Theatre. The night will start with a screening of 4bi9 Media’s “Beggin’ For Change”, followed by Stept Production’s “Weight”, and the night will finish off with Level 1’s “After Dark”. Athletes will be in attendance from all the films, signing autographs, and talking shop. A special after party will follow, and will be announced soon.
The next day at Noon we will be hosting a rail jam at Summit Ski Shop in Lake Elmo, MN. Summit is well known for its “Backyard” featuring their own private rope toe, and rail park. Pro Skiers from the festival’s films will judge the Rail Jam, giving local skiers a shot of impressing their idols. The Festival will continue back at the Loring Theatre at 6pm featuring showings of Toy Solider Production’s “Set Your Sights”, Meathead Film’s “Prime Cut”, and Poor Boyz Productions “The Grand Bizarre”. The night will cap off with The Official MWSFF After Party taking place immediately following the last film at The Loring Theatre featuring live music.
A smaller version of The Midwest Ski Film Festival will be taking place the weekend before in Lake Geneva, WI featuring a selection of films from the festival. More Details to be announced soon.
