Photo of the day

We have so many video options with this new format like video of the day/week/month why not a photo of the day/week/month. I don't know if it is part of the update or not but if it isn't it would be a cool idea to have. With the new gallery it seems more organized and it would be cool to see more photographers posting pictures on the site or kids getting creative with shots. Ik this could probably go in the picture gallery feedback but I wanted a general discussion on the idea of having a P.O.D.

yes I know. but I made another one because they updated the website and it still isn't on the site.

Look - its on the right of every photo page.

The issue is that there's still quirks, so we're not fully pushing it yet. For instance, if you look at the POD picks, the first few weren't good.

It takes a bit of time looking at the logs of real data to get the algorithms picking the right media.

However, its a great start.

The scripts we used to back-populate the of the month and of the week were decent, but there's a few quirks in there.

Over time we'll get it perfect. Of the day now is pretty good - the photo it picked from yesterday was awesome.

and it didn't work until 5 minutes ago. I was about to pm a red name. but its all good now. Now I wait until snow and start taking photos
