i don't see why they do not have it..

the first time i went there. we got off the bus and it was night so we walked to the lifts thinking it was gonna be open. and people were heckling us the entire way. so we built a jump and seshed for a while. .

Eh... the problem with Whistler is that the base is so low, that the bottom thousand feet or so are extremely vulnerable to warmer weather. Effective night skiing would have to take place up higher and that would be a bloody nightmare. I doubt the small windows of good weather really compensate for all the risk and probable loss that night skiing poses.

eh i dunno. i mean just have it open on magic chair when the weather was cooperating. put in a little jib park and i don't think people would complain. i'd be more than happy to be able to do that.

i think they stopped doing it because not enough people would go... there .was a good chance u were going to be the only person there. it used to be on the magic chair just one run, and they had a mini park set (couple of rails) but only on some nights. I totally think they should bring it back also. Maybe with a little section closed during the day so the night park is still in good shape at night. would be so sick to hit up after work

this. ive gone off at keystone. if you have really good vision you can still see. those sick full moons light up so much.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.  We stopped our night skiing under the Magic chair a few seasons ago because hardly anyone actually turned out.  We would have more families coming out trying to toboggan, than actually ski or snowboard on the jibs we had set up.  The only nights that were busy were nights that we hosted the King of the Rail competitions, so we kept those going, and will be hosting them again this winter at the base of Whistler by the GLC.  I will talk to our Operations team to let them know that people would like to see this come back again.  Any questions just let me know.

my hill doesnt even open untill 4pm and its already dark by then, i dont see the problem why they couldnt have a few runs with some lights on for people who are working 40 hours a week

I think a great way to reintroduce night skiing to WB would be to have just a couple nights per week for a few hours in which night skiing is running. This way everyone would look forward to the nights that it is actually open, and have a chance ride the night jib park. It wouldn't have to be much- a few trickable, fun features in a row for all levels (beginner right up to the pros) under Magic Chair would be all we'd need to have a great time and learn. I think I speak for most Whistler locals interested in the park scene that once the mountain closes, there isn't a lot to do, so I think it would be great for our community to have this small night jib park to reconvene at once the sun goes down... a lot like the skate park during the summer, which has people riding it all night.

In an effort to build more hype surrounding a night jib park, some small contests such as best edits, small jams put on by local shops, etc. could be a great way bring more people into the park, if it were to become a reality. Over the past few years I've heard quite a few people in Whistler mention how they wish night skiing still existed on Magic Chair, so I hope that this is considered by the Operations team!

The one problem I foresee is that Magic Chair is still a beginner area and unless all the features were moved in and out every day it seems it would be hard to accommodate both a learning area and a park. I'm still all for it though.
