It was a sick movie! Great job Sammy uber dope, but you guys definitly need to work on puttin them triples down. pretty weak imo (insert troll face here)
all the bangers, sunsets, and timelapses were epic. loads of flats/rodeos and the editing was a little wierd at parts, ex. slo-mo of the same trick twice or strange transitions, but the movie quotes here and there were hilarious. overall i'd say 8/10 plus some props for the triple attempts.
the pole jib was my favorite part. anybody else think there was gonna be a dub 10 with the pole jib in the middle? I think sammy could do it
Those were the largest BC features i have ever seen. The step up and step over were fucking massive 120+ footers. i havnt seen shit that large for years. Props sammy, that was an awesome summer movie...really visually impressive.
easily the best backcountry jumps made by a skier. rivals the size of the jumps that travis rice is hitting.
now Sammy just has to build these during the winter and land them into powder.
i've been waiting ages for skiers to consistently hit jumps this big outside of the park. park jumps get so goddamn boring regardless of how big they are. park jumps are so predictable.
finally, skiing has its next-generation Candide Thovex.
Those jumps aren't getting made in the winter. Upper elevations on Hood are brutal in the winter, with heavy avy danger. And I'm pretty sure one of them is in Meadows permit area.
due to the abundance of jumps and lack of everything else.
wish those triples were done on something with a landing... believe they would've been stomped if it weren't for coming down on flat.
really really neat and interesting set ups. I liked the location a lot, I'm just not the biggest fan of carlson's style. Just my preference, no hate to him, he killed it.
does carlson ever ski during the day time?
seems like he doesn't clip on his skis until at least dusk. i've always found it difficult to ski AFTER DARK. harharhar
also definitely not the best movie i've seen in years.
THE FIRST PART WAS SO TEDIOUS THOUGH, 30 SHOTS OF SAMMY DOING FLATSPINS AND RODEO 5S INTO THE SUNSET WAS NOT AMUSING.
THERE WAS A LOT OF SICK LOCATIONS AND GOOD PARTS THOUGH. RIGHT BEFORE HE TRYED THAT TRIPLE FRONT I WAS THINKING "HMM ID LIKE TO SEE A FRONTFLIP ON THIS JUMP"
THEN NOT 1, NOT 2, BUT 3 FRONTFLIPS WERE THROWN. DAMN
The scenery was sick. All the shots of the clouds and sunset looked unreal along with some of the skiing. I bet if they kept going at that step up they could have gotten some threes
