How am I to go Skiing?

I am currently staying at the Humber Lakeshore campus and I would like to go skiing this winter. I don't own a car so I could invest in a bike. That's still going to take me roughly 8 hours on a good day to get to a hill according to google maps so that is out of the question. A cab would probably be expensive as fuck and probably contain one of the worst conversations I will ever have to sit through so I don't want to do that either.

I figure that the only two ways I am going to get there would be to take some sort of tour bus there or meet someone. I don't really expect to meet any of you though so which company would be the best one to go with? Any advice on that kind of stuff would be appreciated.

This is just a thought, prolly wont work....but, what if you volunteered to be a chaperone with a public school near by your campus, that goes skiing once week during the winter.....or  GO Bus and train schedule might help...

Every Greyhound Bus that goes to Barrie in the winter goes to MSLM after

Yeah, just checked it out. For me it's $40 to take the bus. Just a little bit too pricey for me.

Ok so this whole bus thing isn't really working out, if someone lives in the Long Branch/ Etobicoke area and doesn't mind giving me a ride that would be great and yes, I would be willing to pitch in for gas.

Hey! I'm a student at U of T, and I joined the ski & snowboard club here because of the same problem.

Anyway, we do trips up to blue mountain during January and February, plus a trip up to Tremblant over reading week. All the pricing info's on the website (http://ssc.sa.utoronto.ca/). The Blue Mountain memberships are 360, which gets you a Blue 5x7 pass, and a weekly bus trip up for January & February ... also a tshirt, and we have socials during the year so you can meet other members -- even though our buses only go up once a week, some members drive up more often, and the movie premieres and pub nights are a good place to meet them!

Don't need to be a U of T student to join.
