Another longboard help thread

Hey ns,

i am seeking some advice on a longboard. I am 6 foot 1 inch, 150 pounds and 15 years old. i skateboard now and do a bit of longboarding on my homemade board. I want a board that is basically under 39", good around town and crowds, something that i can do small hills on. my town is pretty flat. I have been looking at the landyachtz time machine.

If you guys could throw me in the right direction for a nice commuting board, that would be awesome.

well there's decks that are better for downhill than others, but your bushings trucks and wheels are the contributing factor for the most part.

oh and forgot to mention that i will need some advice buying new wheels aswell. any body reccomend some that are smooth rolling, fast, grippy and last pretty long? what size range should i be looking for?

ps already have bear grizleys trucks awaiting the new deck and wheels.

to me a kicktail sounds ideal for weaving in and out of people. i love my gumballs, they're great. but i'm no wheel expert

id reccomend the BC moray. its just like a skateboard, but its a longboard. it all depends on what you want.

-cutouts
-how you'll use it
-flexiness
-sliding
etc.

your welcome, any time dude.

everything you'll need will be there haha. it will also help with wheels. id reccommend flasbacks or big zigs. o'tangs are good too.

im actually looking at the never summer heist, BC eel, or original apex 37. you might like the apex 37.

for commuting, drop through trucks would be a must (drops the deck lower, and lower center of gravity, thus, ideal for pushing). you also want some smooth bearings so your wheels will spin for a longer distance. id stick with bones. reds are the lowest (cheapest, like 20 dollars) while the ceramics are much more up in the 50 dollar range.

If youre looking at landyachtz i recommend the chinook. Very good among crowds and for long distances and its amazing at hills. only problem is it might be longer than what youre looking for

Maybe some Grippins or Otangs
Bones reds or better
Paris or Randal trucks, I hate Original trucks.

i got the loaded dervish flex 2 and its byfar one of my fav boards, its a little longer at 42.5 inches but its great for ripping around town and hills of all calliber.

another board i would recomend is the landyachtz bamboo pinner, my buddy has it and its a really fun  ride and cheap aswell

arbor axis. ill never buy another board. its so sick. beautiful graphics and would (clear grip on bamboo :) looks so good) ive hit 40 mph on mine and have never crashed. i love it so much

You skill is gonna determine if you make it down a hill with board. Definitely consider getting something a usable tail. I picked up longboarding for going to class, and have been skateboarding for a long time prior, and I miss being able to ollie up curbs and sewer caps. Any wheels with a sharper lip shape and wide contact patch should have some grip. Make sure to play with bushings cause they can change the turning dynamics so much.

if you don't mind putting the cash down, the loaded tan tien with o'tangs is my favorite board i've stepped foot on.
